accountability

When should parents be concerned when there kid is not getting a chance to compete for the spot they tried out for. It seems to me there is certain players that make alot of errors and there is no accountability for there constent mistakes. We all know it`s winterball but enough is enough.

When they are angry enough to post their angst on a public message board, they should be concerned. Very concerned.

American Idol Syndrome:Have you ever watched American Idol the first few weeks of folks auditioning? You always have a dozen or so parents claiming that their kid sings like an angel while the real world watches in horror and laughter on how bad that kid sings.

Softball is no different; parents (not all) are always excusing their kids’ deficiencies while magnifying other player’s mishaps. We need to be more honest with ourselves.

Ask yourself these questions:

1. Who is talking about your kid?
a. You or others
2. When others are talking about your kids playing time
a. Did you bring it up?
b. Or are they also complaining and now its two (or more) people with the same issue.?
3. How much time are you investing in preparing your kid for practice

Paying dues in form of money and time, freindlies, and fundraiser does not pay for a spot on the roster. Unfortunately it’s the parents taking on the world defending their kid that creates the cancer on most teams that really doesn’t help anyone.

When its all said and done the world is not completely fair and even though you put your time in you just may get screwed anyway.

That being said a user name of “screw you” gives me an idea of what personality it motivating the question.

Note: no one is forcing you to spend your money & time ….. it may be time to move on!

I don't know what to tell you, screw you. But I will try to help you, screw you. If you are not happy, screw you, a change of teams might be in order. Maybe, screw you, you can try to put together a team of your own. Or, screw you, you should have a conversation with the coach and voice your concerns. Nevertheless, screw you, sounds like you are unhapppy.

Look luck to you in resolving you issues, screw you!

FUNNY BUT THE ISSUE IS`NT WITH MY KID. IT IS A ISSUE OF LETTING OTHER GIRLS HAVE A SHOT AT THE POSITION THEY WHERE BROUGHT ON THE TEAM FOR. ALSO IT`S NOT THE COACHES KID. THAT IS WHY THE PARENTS ARE PUZZLED. BUT OH WELL HOPEFULLY THINGS WORKOUT

This is the fall. Relax and try to enjoy your daughters time on the field. The real stuff comes after January. A coach needs to know what he has and what he does not have. Tell your daughter to play her arse off and don't worry about anything else. Things have a way of working themselves out. If she is meant to be where YOU want her to be she will be there, because her ability will dictate it.

@As the World Turns - you had me rolling with tears...LMFAO..."I like the sense of humor".

@Screw You, all I have to say is "It's unfortunate about all the errors the player(s) are making and hopefully it will get better." I know, how frustrating that gets...GL
