Mike Burgmeier - very Bad softball coach

Mike Burgmeier (40) from Ventura was arrested a couple days ago for having a sexual relationship with a 13 year old girl on his softball team. He coached the 18U So Cal Diamonds out of Thousand Oaks / Newbury Park and for Simi Valley High School. He also did a lot of private coaching out of Boost Your Average batting cages in Westlake.

For anyone who thinks he might be innocent or the allegations false...Of course he did it !!!!! He’s a CREEP and a scumbag and should be put to death a dawn. I would say one out a thousand turn out to be innocent. Why do we focus on that one ??? What about the victim ? Everybody forgets about the victim. One story reported a ‘consensual’ sexual relationship. There is nothing consensual about a 13 year old girl and 40 year old trash. Trust me…there will be more charges to come and possibly more victims coming forward. Boo hoo for Mike. He gets what’s coming…the scarlet letter.

It should be noted that he recently joined the Diamonds as a coach, not the manager.

It should also be noted that no credible corroborating evidence has yet been presented--a notable difference from prior instances of predatory conduct discussed on this site.

Doesn't look good, but I'll withhold judgment until I see more.

I know for a fact that this is not the first time this has happened, nor the first child it happened to. It is not my place to come forward to the police because I am not the victim -- the victim is someone very close to me, and she will tell her story if and when she wants to. But this guy is a SERIAL predator, and he needs to be locked away for a long, long time. Something like this is always a shock, but upon hearing these news reports I realized that he was bound to be caught eventually.

Let me get this straight. You know for a "fact" that this isn't the first time this has happened to children at his hands, but you never came forward because you weren't the victim? You sound like a real quality human being.

Easy on Pezz. Sombody wouldn't say that simply because they didn't like the guy.

I personally have never met the guy, but two weeks ago I was in conversation with a parent who specifically mentioned this coach as constantly being 'too close' to the girls figuratively and physically.

Also, a coach who used to work with him told me something similar to the above.

Has he spoken to the press yet...made his denials ? Oh, I guess not...even though he's been out since Friday.

Trust me...the girl has already gone through a rigerous process in order for someone to even be arrested...The parents, the police, crisis councelor / psychologist, physical details...think about it. This is not 'Texas cheerleader' style payback. If it is, I'll eat my words.

But now...I give 100% supporty to the girl and her parents.

What Skarp didn't spell out is, if our new HB contributor knew "for a fact" this had gone on in the past, then he contributed to more girls be victimized.

Hey guys: I understand what each of you has said, and I understand why you would take issue with it. Skarp, you're very misguided. The woman I am speaking of is an adult woman. She revealed things to me in confidentiality. Another person that I am close to, who knew of the same incident that I am speaking of, told the police. They claimed that privacy laws prevented them from interviewing the woman of whom I am speaking. It might be better that way. Get your head out of your behind before you choose to find fault with me. Think before you speak. Now I'm gonna go take a shower. Attach a filter to that big mouth of yours.
