Blackwidow resides in that peculiar alternate reality (known hereabouts as "liberalism") in which corporeal perfection is achievable. One never need choose the lesser among evils in that fine place; merely burst into song, prance among the daisies, and think pure thoughts, and no harm or unpleasantness will ever befall you.

I wonder .....
if people spent as much time discussing and/or reading about the issues as they do trying to categorize others there could be a civilized discussion on these issues.

I have never attacked any of the posters on this site. Every post that I've made have been based only on my views.
Rarely have I even used my own words but the words of others to illustrate my thoughts. I've posted articles from well-informed writers that receive no comment or discussion.
I've adhered to 2 major points in this thread.
1. Bring our soldiers home from this illegal war.
2. Government in unreliable on both sides of the aisle.
It's difficult for me to understand that there is even an opposition to those 2 positions yet sadly there is.

Ad Hominem attacks, sweeping generalizations, straw men and red herrings do not make for quality discussions.

OK - I'll play along...

Why is the war illegal? It was debated, voted on, approved and subsequently funded by our elected representatives on both sides of the aisle. Which U.S. law was broken, on which you base the allegation of illegality?

I totally agree that we should not be the world's police force. I agree that if we are not going to allow troops to do their job - which contrary to popular belief is NOT to build schools and roads but to kill the enemy, take territory, and basically break stuff - then by all means we need to bring them home to their families.

Actually it is far more sad that young people always fail to look history in the eye.

It was the same " peace activists" and " anti-war" believers that help pass the

Neutrality Acts in the 1930's with the thought process that the war in Europe was

" not our war" or " not our problem".

How amazing, these same proponents changed their beliefs after December 7th.

lol...silly w4t. If you think she agrees with you, our foremost apologist for a massive (and massively intrusive and oppressive) government, you're even more confused than I thought.

Actually, I have commented on the offerings you've posted, and have invited your discussion. Every time I post I am inviting discussion. You, in return, have failed to respond at all to my legitimate and pointed critiques of your position. Yes, I've described your ideas as fantastical, and have categorized them in many respects as "liberal" (a term that, like it or not, has real and definable content), but attacking your ideas and/or mindset is different than attacking you as a person. So I hope that you aren't referring to me in this post.

If you want to have a quality discussion, you have to be willing to argue and defend the points that you make...not simply repost them again and again, as if no criticisms of them have been raised. Pick any sentence I've ever written on this site, and press me on it. Attack it. I will defend it directly, or will admit defeat if I can't. What I won't do is pretend that you didn't call it into question at all, or answer with yet another platitude amounting to the same exact thing that I wrote in the first place.

Quality discussion isn't polite. Quality discussion is war. May the best ideas (i.e., mine  ) win.

Perhaps, Skarp, if blackwidow decides to engage you in a debate of ideas - which based on the last blackwidow post seems to be what was requested - she'll give you an answer to my question about which U.S. law has been broken...all I'm hearing is crickets chirping...

Yes..."illegal" flashed at me in neon as soon as I read it as well, but I saw that you had the territory well-covered. I suspect that what you'll get instead of a serious response to that question is a few more trite platitudes and another assortment of links to the writings of marginal thinkers spouting poorly-supported conspiracy theories to audiences comprised primarily of Keith Olbermann and the Code Pink membership list.

"Bush Lied, People Died!"

Ummm...yeah...I think you said that already...
