Fall Disney HOF Tournament

by AmericanAthletics 96 » Thu Aug 26, 2010 5:58 pm

I believe 16 teams need to enter in the age group in order for the berth to be awarded.

That is true...16 teams are required for the berth and I believe the 2nd place team will get the spot to OKC for the Hall of Fame Tournament next summer.

Flat entry fee of $795 includes the tournament as well as 6 tickets to DisneyLand (in past years each member of the team was supposed to have bought a ticket which made the tournament extremely expensive).

Interested to see the turnout in the 16/18 divisions as it is also the weekend of one of the Surf City Showcases.

I think the bigger question regarding this tournament being a National Qualifier is if the players will now be redlined to the teams. For many, there is a lot of movement between teams during the winter.

Where is the information/link on this? Can't find anything on SoCal ASA or Disney sites...

No your roster is not Redlined but you need to have at least 5 girls return in 2011. You also are not allowed to play in a Div. you are not going to be in for spring.

So a 97 team that wants to play in this has to play 14u in order to qualify.

Here is a link for the Tournament it self.

Is it locked at 16 teams? If they have like 30 teams will they open up more spots? How can we find out who is going?

But you get 6 tickets to Disneyland which would run you 400 so the tournament entry is about normal for ASA.
The question is which 6 players get the tickets :?

Ummm... the coaches kids?
Don't worry about tomorrow. You did that yesterday.

Good point.....BUT.....They know that you will be FORCED to buy tickets for not only the remaining 6 or 7 or 8 kids on your team that will be broken-hearted at the thought of not seeing Pluto.....Plus the coaches and possibly 1 or 2 parents....Now, we're talking an additional $800 to $1,000 including the $800 you already spent just to get in.....Just a lot of $$$....I'm sure the teams will be great and all that is good BUT nearly $2,000 for a Winter tournament with a trip to see Mickey and Pluto is a lot of $$...
