I dont expect college kids to be fully developed, so I certainly dont expect 12u players to come to the games knowing what they are doing.

Bottom line is this; there are so many 12u teams between Lodi, Tracy, Modesto areas that you should have no problem finding an outstanding 12u coach for your player (heavy does of sarcasm).

But seeing coaches get slammed on these forums just kind of blows. Most of them are freely giving of their time for yours and others kids. To then get slammed on a publc forum by ANONYMOUS users is just BS. Now if you put your real name on here and then want to criticize....
I am ok with that.

I personally like MIke and think he is a good coach. You can certainly do a whole lot worse out there.

Those 12 u parents were changing their kids diapers when Dimas was coaching some very good teams 10 years ago.

His older daughter was one of the best catchers to come out of this area in 10 years.

Maybe the players on the team cant play??? so they try to blame it on him.

Whoa! Calm down, dude, let me try and post again. I wrote something out, dont know where it went. I'm just going by what we've heard, from friends with kids who are upper tier who've played and who would have played for him. I've seen coaches take marginal talent, make it better, and win. I've also seen coaches that didnt know what they were doing, have superior talent, and win. When we dont know someone we research, mostly, by what we see and word of mouth. Thats the scoop we got on him. Quiet, cant coach. He must have done something right if his daughter was so awesome-what college did she end up playing for?-however, I agree with one of the other posts that "how does that make you a good coach now?" No need to get angry.

Many people come on these boards that dont know jack squat about softball or how to coach. They then come on here and blast people from behind some screen name.

I am basing my opinions on the man based upon what I KNOW, not what someone has told me.

Now I dont know much, but I have had some moderate success as a coach in these parts, and I know that with many coaches I can pretty much do whatever I want and they dont have a clue.

With Mike, he would know and he would have his team ready to defend. So my opinion of him as a coach is not based upon what some person was posting on a message board.

And trust me, I am not angry or upset in the slightest. This stuff is nothing new. When you coach, you get slammed. Just comes with the territory.

Heard the same about Dimas...nice guy, quiet guy, but doesn't know how to call a game.

If a coach is good, it doesn't matter if the area is saturated with 12U teams, everyone will want to be on his team. Wonder why the other 2 coaches were brought in...maybe to get players to stay/be on the team? Hmmmmm...

So give me 1 example of a coach in the Modesto/stockton/Sacramento area in the 16, 14, or 12u ages that has players knocking down his/her door every year to play for them.

Dimas is not the reason this team fell apart... The fact that he OPTED OUT with these "new coaches" coming in is why it did...

Im still waiting for the name of the coach..... any coach in the younger ages that is so good that all the players come running to play for them each year.

Got a feeling I will be waiting a while for that name.

What happened? The earlier posts said Victor Deanda/Mark Ortega took teams to nationals, sound like knowledgeable coaches to me. I was looking for a 12u team, work has moved me to central valley from the south bay.

Mark Ortega and Victor Deanda did take a team to 10u Nationals last year and placed 5th
