I would say South top Contenders are as follows...(No order)
Georgia Impact Strothers
Vipers Prance
East Cobb Walters
Birmingham Thunderbolts
Fury '95
Fury '96
Tsunami Gold

Dream on.

Thanks for the correction. I should have said, the winner of the HOF should be a contender.

Ok breaking down the Cal teams I’ve watched:

San Jose Sting (best offensive)
PowerSurge 96 (best fewest runs allowed defense)
Corona Angels 95 (best combination of talent and experience)
4th Madness 95 (best team-game team)

AZ Stealth (not from Cali but probably a Group 1 team)

Other contenders: OCBB, both Firecracker teams, MG95 (seem to be hot), MizP95-D, BS96, SDR95 etc.

Heck no. That sounds like actual work. Usually it's easy to start some shiznizzle on these "who's gonna win" threads. Not this time I guess...

I am tempted to retract my prediction that no '96 team will win (or to at least pretend that I never said it), but it's only fair that the PS 96 folks get to take me to the woodshed if they get it done. So I'll stand by it.

The team that wins will defintely maybe have these things going for them:

-go into nationals relatively healthy, at least in their key positions.
-team has conditioned and can stay strong playing multiple games each day, especially from Friday on.
-have at least 2 good pitchers that can each throw 2-3 games in a day, and can come in late in any situation and have success. at some point all teams will need a pitcher to come in and get the team out of a jam late in a game. the rest of the team must have faith in these pitchers.
-a decent draw, where you aren't playing strong team after strong team, at least not until the quarters.
-will stay healthy through the tournament.
-team goals and parental support. i've seen teams with individuals win, but the team that can play together, know their roles without showing jealousy, and support each other, overcomes a team with a lot of individual great players that don't play together.
-a coaching staff that can keep the team focused. nationals are where petty jealousy, arguments, extreme heat, etc can take a team's focus away from their goals.

good luck to everyone, and take time to stop, breathe, and look around a little when you are there.
Deserve's got nothin' to do with it.
