T.C. W.S. is a step up from the ASA Western Regional (think that is the best region as far as caliber of teams that attend) but not as good as ASA Nationals. As far as NSA and USSSA and IFA and other world series are concerned, I would say they do not pull as many good as teams as the above mentioned.

So surehitter dont sell it short. Yes there is fun things to do there, but there are also some good teams that make the trip and play good softball.
The bashing of the tournament has been an on going thing...

Take a look at Surehitters post history. He has some sort of determined fixation with demeaning TCWS in it's significance to the young ladies development. We know....you went there and rode the pony..... Congrats. Leave those that choose to go alone. Or are you afraid they'll take your pony?

Triple Crown World Series is EXTREMELY well organized and Park City, UT is an AWESOME location, just to mention the weather for one thing. Beauuutifullll... Sheechh, I can't imagine why anyone would want to bash this tournament. The hard work of the tournament staff and friendliness and cooperation of our Canyons Resort staff and local restaurants was fantastic.

The parade.... the TCWS Staff at the parade (super friendly), the Zip lines, Star Gazing and all things FUN... why would anyone want make those sound like bad things? We wish we had even MORE time to do MORE things? Then there's Zion, Bryce, The Dixie National Forest! OMGosh... to all the above... WOW!

Even before we left, Friends of mine, FRIENDS I tell you, were saying, "yeah, triple crown ain't what is use to be...".

Well why is that?

It's a pay to play...

I don't believe it has anything to do with Triple Crown Sports. Again, the organization of the World Series Tournament, at least from where I stand, was FANTASTIC!

I do believe it has more to do with a been there, done that kind of attitude. And I do believe it's the losers of this tournament who are the biggest complainers.

With seeing the enthusiasm of the winning team, in this instance AZ Dynasty (BTW, many congrats to your win, great job), I can't imagine those parents or coaches saying yeah but it's a pay to play, or yeah triple crown just ain't what is use to be. NO, They showed, they looked great, and THEY WON! and they looked like they enjoyed every minute of it.

Other teams showed, looked great, but did not have the stamina. So, I can imagine coaches and parents of losing teams saying, this is a BS tournament anyway. Lets go ride the pony's.

I don't get it, but I feel that's how it is.

No, I am not a parent on the AZ Dynasty... Dang dong Team... WE COULDA BEAT YOU!! and I hope we getta play again someday... you all showed great class against us. It was all good.

No, I obviously don't work for Triple Crown Sports. I've just compared TC to ASA during our visit... and I'm not bagging on ASA it has good stuff too, but I have to say Triple Crown is a little better organized and a LOT more visitor friendly. Checking in, Game Scheduling, Championship game on Saturday (i know its a Utah thing, but it's a good thing. Many of us have to work on Mondays.) The whole experience was just pleasant and even more so... EASY. With a LOT of good things in-between to ENJOY. That really is a good thing!

Congrats to all the teams who particpated in the TCWS 10 up to 14.

It never ceases to amaze me the "winners" on this site who always have to find a way to denegrate or downgrade the accomplishments of young ladies on the field. It's always something...oh so and so team wasn't there and such and such wasn't there and "pay to play." Given the generous awarding of ASA National berths in some divisions why are you "winners" not saying the same about that?

Either your kids have been studs since age 2 like Dani and play for the "big names" and win every game they play.... or maybe your team never won or placed in a tournament.... or maybe your team lost to a team you though "sucked" and weren't "really that good"?

Maybe you "winners" just can't take joy in girls playing the sport to their best and having a great time with their family too? Some teams that particpated in TCWS actually won or placed in tournaments and may have made the financial decision that ASA Nationals was not affordable in these tough times.

TCWS was a blast for our family and lots of others from the looks of it. We saw great games in 10s and 12s while we were there. And yes all levels of play too. SO WHAT! if it was a disapointing turn out to you. It is a playing experience for the girls and a time to remember, pin trading...parades and meeting girls from other parts of the country. It seemed well run, organized and the fields were great. Clean air and softball....what more could a California girl want! Just sayin:)

We're one of those families who had a great time in Utah. While at EM with DD, I talked with a few who were going to Indiana, and when they found out we were headed to Utah, all I heard was what a great time we were going to have.

The venues were all great with the exception of Coalville. Those two fields were terrible. Refurbished rodeo stables didn't cut it. That, and one particular umpire, would be my only complaint. Other than that, we had a great time. Friendly people, clean air, great (free) public transportation and perfect weather all week. What more could you ask for?

The pin trading and the opening day parade was a hit with the girls. What a great time they had with their costumes and getting those hard to find pins. Also during the down time the girls really enjoyed Park City Resort with the roller coaster, zip lines, and the alpine slide. There was always something to do. Then Thursday's evening All-Star games were very cool. A lot of fun softball that evening.

I guess some would say that TCS World Series isn't ASA Nationals. Their correct.

But DD had a ton of fun with all the festivities, got to play in the A All-Star game and won, made it to Saturday's elimination day by winning 3 games back to back to back on Friday, and finished in the top 5. No it wasn't Nationals, but I can live with it

Its all what you make of it. To all who went to TCS, I too hope you had as good of a time as we did, and for those going to Indiana, good luck, be safe and play hard.

AZ dynasty had a great time in Utah. The blues were great and the fields were very well maintained. I even found myself needing to pay compliments to the TD whenever we returned to the central field. The skills challenge was allot of fun. We were a little disappointed that they did not post the individual rankings but not a big deal. We had a chance to coach an all star team and the turnout was great. We are convinced that there is a secret to getting picked that we have no clue about since we only had two girls on the team. Maybe someone can share that?

I think the people that are negative about the experience had a bad experience when they went. Undoubtedly the ASA national is the big show however there are many reasons why people cannot make it. We were qualified to go to Indiana however plans were made and it was a bit late to change them.

Competition wise I think it was a very good turnout. We had a couple close calls and managed to squeak a win out. Every team we played we enjoyed and could not say anything negative about one of them.

Would we go to Park City again? I don’t think so, if they moved it to another city/state possibly. I think the “had been there done that" mentality does apply. This is nothing negative on TCS or Park City it is just that if we are going to travel somewhere every year we want it to be new and exciting for the whole family not just the softball player. One of the only exceptions to that rule is Sparkler or Fireworks in Colorado.

We are very sad that we cannot make the trip to Indiana but have no regrets on what we did do. Please do not rain on our dd’s parade. All teams performed well and deserve the respect they earned.

We look forward to playing you all next year. If you have any suggestions for tournaments in So Cal that we must attend during the fall and spring that draw allot of talent we would love to be part of those. Pm me or post it here.
