A lot of So-Cal teams on the 14B side of Park city..

by lvtwft » Fri Jul 09, 2010 12:13 pm

Socal Havoc
OC Elite 14U
OC Magic 96
HB Breeze 96
SoCal Storm
OC Legends
California Waves
SoCal Heat

Saw they were playing in the 14B side at Park City..
I have not seen that many So-Cal teams play on that side of this tournament before.
Curious if some are playing down in level or not??

Doesn't Triple Crown determine who plays A & who plays B by their record in past tournaments? If I counted correctly. there were 17 CA teams in 14uA and 14 in 14uB. Was it the opening posts intent to ridicule the teams because they are not strong teams? I think it is good to split it into A & B to keep the level of play somewhat equal.

No ridicule here and triple crown as far as I know does not split you but you tell them what division you want to play in...not sure but that is what I have been told.

So-Cal teams are very good compared to the rest of the country. You might have 1 or 2 good ones in one area where you have 20 in so-cal.
So I was curious to see if they were part of the good teams from so-cal and playing down in a B tourney, or are the b caliber teams from so-cal travel ball teams this year?
Nothing wrong with either, I am just curious.

It's a shame that so many teams from So Cal feel that the only way you can compete is if they play down a level. I can understand why some teams from other states do it, but there is no excuse for travel teams from So Cal to play "B" at this tournament. Specially some of these teams that have been around a while.... 10U and 12U maybe, but not 14U and up.

Now calm down guys :) - A or B it don't matter It is Triple Crown. Playing at Triple Crown is about a great family softball vacation and some good family memories. Most these girls are just waiting to hit the pony rides, zip lines, bobsleds and the bounce house.

I agree with surehitter, it is a great place to have a softball vacation....I plan on going back again in a few years when my DD is old enough to play 10U...hopefully we can compete as an "A" team or even a "B" team...;)
