Who are the big tough teams at 10u level A?? are there any?

by softball_rules5 » Fri Jun 25, 2010 6:32 am

God love these parents who will drive their kids right out of softball. My team went from being runner up in 2 National Tournaments (NSA and ASA) in 10u to the next year in their first year of 12u starting out at 26-6 and looking very promising to suddenly our goal is just to make it to Sunday. The parents have completely destroyed what would have been a really good team for years to come by making it about my kid, my kid, my kid. From kids leaving to parents complaining about new kids getting to play ahead of theirs it has been a complete debacle. I just sit back and think, this is 10 and 11 year olds, my gosh what will it be like the second year of 14's.

Please sit back and as someone once told me, dont enjoy the finish, enjoy the journey because your daughter may come back next year and say she wants to play the piano (nothing wrong with that, just not softball ;) )

Even better than pole barns and DD favorite numbers.

USFA INDIANA 10U STATE CHAMPS - don't spend the scholarship money yet for the class of 2018 or 19 until you at least get an NSA 10U state trophy, A or B will work.

Best 10U team debate - let's play "How many teams will these assistant coaches and parents split up to form over the next 6 years" - 10U teams multiply like Asian rabbits.

You say that the NSA 10U state "A" or "B" is the cream of the crop, but the team who just won NSA "B" State finished 3rd to USFA 10U State. If competition is so much better at NSA "B" State , then why did they not walk through the USFA? Please remeber that these are 10yo girls and this is a sport. A great one, yes, but still way more important things out there in these girls lives.

If the girls are having fun and learning the game that should be the true sign of success. I'm not sure the record tells the story. Watch how many coaches lose their cool when they are down, pay attention to how they treat their players, and to how well their players respect and treat them. That will tell you who is the best at 10 U. I have seen and heard these coaches tell these girls trying is not good enough, I have heard them say the girls can't play, and so on. I have yet to see a 10U coach that leads by example to show their girls how to win with class and how to lose with class. Find me that coach and you may find the best 10U team in Indiana.

I think you have it a little wrong Xtreme finished 7 th the chix did finish 3rd, and I don't know exactly where the cyclones finished but they did last longer than the Xtreme. Indiana had 3 teams in the top 8. All the teams represented Indiana softball very well. Watching these girls play their hearts out in miserable heat making plays like they were 16u was great. All the girls and teams did great.
