texas glory/texas travelers

by pink_panther » Mon May 12, 2008 3:18 pm

i heard about the two games that texas travelers and texas glory played against eachother. it seems to me that right now they are head to head. nether one is better than the other. i think that if the texas travelers are on thier A game they would beat glory 90% of the time. if the glory wants to beat the travelers sooo bad then they need to step up thier game. im not saying that the travelers will beat glory every time they play them because they probably wont. but that is my opinion. :)

Hearing and seeing are two different things. These two teams are split right down the middle. Travelers will not beat Glory 90% of the time and Glory will not beat Travelers 90% of the time. Their games can go either way 50% of the time.

Pitching, batting, and fielding ... they are equal. South Texas beware

I agree, p4f. It couldn't be any more obvious how evenly matched these two teams are. Between the two games there were 9-10 scoreless innings and (I think) the winning runs in each case were the result of very rare errors. Both teams have tight defenses, great pitching, solid hitting, and have kids capable of making outstanding plays. My guess that that if they played 10 games, they each go 5-5. This is GREAT for Texas softball. Assuming they both keep developing over the next couple of months they will send a lot of teams home at nationals.

Great forum! Was turned on to it this weekend. I saw the first game between the two teams and I would have paid for that game 4/5 itb's I lost count. I think Travelers have the slight edge over Glory right now, both teams are great, but Travelers just seemed to have the better defense, I would say it is more like 55%-45%.

1st base - goes to Glory
2nd base - goes to Travelers
3rd base - goes to Glory
S.S. - everyone has to agree - no comparison needed - Glory has probably the best in the state. Everyone would love to have this kid.
catcher - tie ; never seen the Traveler catcher before but she is strong. Glory's catcher - not the pick up, quick and strong.

outfield - head to head equal - South Texas beware both teams will snag, dive, and throw you out in a heart beat

Hitting - depends on who is on - both are great.

I think comparing individuals is going alittle to far, they are 12 or 13. But, you got your point across. Which one is your DD Glory's 1st or 3rd?

My My My !!!!! Are you people (in Dallas) having 2 team tournaments now? BOTH OF THESE TEAMS ARE GOOD AND SHOULD REPRESENT TEXAS WELL but ,when playing in tournaments with 8,10, 12 and as many as 20 teams the rules are (as I recall )---a 1st, a 2nd and a 3rd place are rewarded ( AND CORRECT me IF I AM WRONG) but I do believe Glory is up with a 1st place championship to the Travelers 2nd place and the sneaky cleats placing 3rd.The national td could care less what the win-loss record is for any 2 teams. Its the end results!!!

Greench, I am under the impression that you don't like Glory.

My daughter does not play for Glory or the Travelers. I stated my opionion as I have seen it on the ballfield.

You can disagree, I don't care, either way look out for both teams. Both of these coaches are obviously teaching them something right.

By the way, why couldn't you accuse the S.S. for being mine?   I'll adopt her!

These two teams are like identical twins.I believe that all the games are going to be close and whoever makes the least mistakes will win.I would'nt even try to make predictons on the percentage a specific team may win.If they can play all the games like they did this weekend against each other it will be a exciting brand of softball. It should be like flipping a quarter sometimes heads and sometimes tails.Let the girls play and leave politics alone
