Upland advances. Beckman had filed protest before game started. CIF is denying the protests this season after upholding the protests last year. They need to fix this problem before it keeps happening over and over.

CIF is saying as this was only two players doing soft front toss, they will not penalize the whole team. They did agree that Upland was guilty of breaking the rule but they(CIF) have the option of enforcing it(team forfeits) or ignoring it depending on the severity of the infraction.

THis was also the ruling in the boys baseball game (South Hills vs Montebello) where they allowed the victory to stand for South Hills although they did break the CIF rule.

Last year, Calvary Murrieta won a game 2-0 but ended up forfeiting the game because the coach was doing front toss with the whole team. The coach was not aware of the CIF playoff rule that does not allow front toss. As the whole team gained the "advantage" of "batting practice", they had to forfeit the victory.
