Any player, no matter a "star" or otherwise, who quits a team at any time should not be allowed to come back. If the player is allowed to come back, that opens the door for any player to leave or threaten to leave in order to get what they want out of the coach.

If one of my staff turns in their resignation, I never counter-offer no matter who it is. I congratulate them, wish them well, and post the opening. I don't play games.

Sorry Mark, I'll try harder and model myself after your character and reputation.

My mistake of school reference and nickname.
Should have been of incident only and how this should be handled.

Note the edit!

My deepest apologies. I still thought this was a forum board.

Best of luck at sectionals!

Hey guys, this really isn't a joking matter, and I appreciate the fact you are being respectful. What's done is done, and we are moving on. One of Indiana's best players will be on the sidelines for this year's tournament. But, I won't stop supporting her and her family and expect her back next season. All of us have our faults, and I would appreciate any support that can be given to her.

Hey Killerbee,

What is it that you have against this specific 16 year old girl that you feel compelled to comment? Many 16 year olds make poor decisions at one point or another.

Speaking of poor decisions, rumor through the grapevine is that you are putting together some "super team" next season by "guaranteeing" Division 1 college scholarships. First question - Since when did you become God? Second question - Don't you think that girls who will primarily already be seniors after this supposed "super team" is compiled will already have laid the ground work for getting themselves scholarships? To take credit and pretend that you are securing their future for them, when their own hard work and commitment has gotten them this far, only supports the other rumor through the grapevine that you are sadly doing this for your own ego.

Extremely pathetic.

softballqueen1971, (Sorry, didn't catch your name)

I will answer your questions! Thanks for the publicity as I am still in search of one star player to solidify my ego "superteam" :)
I do have vested interest in this as well ya know! I still have 2 kids that play.

Call it superteam, I call it Gold!

Since when did you become God?
-Seriously

Don't you think that girls who will primarily already be seniors after this supposed "super team" is compiled will already have laid the ground work for getting themselves scholarships?

Absolutely!!! All of the players for the so called "super team" have been coached very well and work very hard on their own and have the grades to get there! However, most of the girls within our area have a limited network and actually know the recruiting process. That's where I help out! Finding the right program that has players area of interest and needs for her position. It's not just about going to exposure tournaments! It's more about getting the correct schools to come watch a player that is a fit for the school.

BTW... If they are a senior and looking to play D1, you're a bit behind the 8 ball.

Good Luck to you in your process

There is no doubting Bee's success in the college recruiting arena. Regardless if we agree with him or have a personality conflict, he has been a benefit to Indiana fastpitch. But, as coaches we tend to let ego's get in the way from learning from the more experienced coaches who have been through the process. If it was truely about the girls we would reach out to them. I have picked the thoughts of Lewis and Lloyd many times, and in some instances we have had our teams work together for the benefit of the players.

I would still would like coaches such as Lewis, Bell, Mathews, knox, Clay and whoever else act as mentors for these young good coaches coming up, regardless if the are associated with the Dreams, Gators, Magic, etc. There are some really good young coaches such Montgomery, Green, and many others that I dont know that could really benefit from the experience these coaches have in regardes to the recruiting process. Instead, it usually dies when the coaches retire, or it is a closely guarded secret that is used as a recruiting tool for their own teams.

Some thoughts to ponder, now we all can sing kumbaya around the campfire. :D
