Hello Everyone. Attached is the last coaches poll for SoCal 10U going into ASA States.
Those who voted before I will send to you in an email as well.

A couple of coaches asked why this is the last poll. Mainly because and somewhat to 10U, some teams will disband after ASA States. Some teams will immediately get ready for 12's. Some teams will take the summer off. Some are doing TCS, some Western's, and hopefully the Top 7 are going to ASA Nationals. So really the only teams on the radar after ASA states would be the ones that have a berth and doing ASA Nationals. If someone wants to continue the poll after May they are welcome to it, but you will see it will be hard as most teams will be going their separates ways based on what they have planned and their team goals for the summer and the focus will be different.

That being said, please return the polls back to me by next Wednesday 5/26/2010 and I will post the results that evening and that will be that. Email to socal10udude@gmail.com

I don't forsee too much movement in the top 10 but I think we should have a new #1 again.

Thanks EVERYONE it was really FUN doing this for you... !!!!

7/10in 10u..13/50 in 12u, come on. Why don't we just give them all a participation ribbon

That is not correct either although my initial read and interpretation was not correct too(possibly).

It states specifically:

2010 Berths and Qualifications
Article 516
D Girls Class A Fast Pitch

Association Berths based on previous year’s Girls’ Fast Pitch registrations: Associations registering 201 – 999 teams receives one ( 1 ) berth, for associations above 999 teams, those associations will receive an additional berth for each increment of 500 team registrations. As an example, an association that registers 2900 teams would receive 5 total berths. The best way to determine the berths is to take total registered teams and divide by 500 – the number of berths is the whole number – no rounding up.

------------
To me, it looks like 10U could've had up to 13 berths as well, that is the part that isn't super clear.

I wouldn't count your chickens before they are hatched. Watley,Eliminators and I think USA Atheletics have strong 2000 pitchers that someone can build a soild team around.

Imagine if a some coach can get all three for next year?
you won't have a chance.
2000 teams are not even forming yet... I'm sure you have seen what happens to Cocky teams...
Take a look at that Nor Cal 10 u team. lol it looks like nobody likes them.

I'm sure you have a great team, but let the girls do the talking on the dirt...it just leaves a bad taste in people's mouths when teams "parents/ coaches".get too cocky.

Just my thoughts

From what I can tell the RR Gold team is a 99 team not a 2000. Also watching some of there games I don't think the coaches or players are cocky. The team is well coached and fundamentally sound. Their might be some fans or parents that have said stuff to make the team seem cocky, but the team performs on the field!! When you look at everyones postings we all say let the girls play on the field do the talking.

First nobady is cocky and I agree Watley has the best 2000 pitcher and Corona also has a great pitcher. And my comment wasnt saying people are scared to play us, I am not crazy. I simply said we are the best 2000 team now and I thought thats what was asked not who will be the best next year. My other comment was to play another 2000 team if they thought they were better so we could actually play a team our size. As for next year I know Watley and Coronas pitchers will make great teams just by their pitching alone. And I am not crazy enough to think no one will beat us next year. Whatever team Megans (Watleys pitcher) on will be very tough to beat.

As for RR Gold I thought they had a great team and coaches. From what i have seen I cant believe the comments about them. I was very impressed when we played them and how the coach wanted to talk to our players after our game. Great coaches and very respectful on and off the field
