This weekend in DFW

they tried to put it back on but was unsuccessful the head umpire I talked to today said the bat should have been confiscated and held for inspection and not returned until the tornament was completed that did not happen it was handed back to the coach and i believe if he could have fixed it in the dugout it would hae been used again. the problem i have is if it was not altered then the game stands and all is well but it should ahve been held and inspected the winning runs were it with tha bat and if it was illegal then the game results were tainted

I did not see any effort to inspect the equipment...At that point I suppose the losing coaches could have asked for the td to intervene and have the equipment inspected for safety reasons. But does blue get any training on how to spot this illegal stuff. why would he not use this flying hint as an opportunity to say look down the barrel to find out if the deadening material had been tampered with. seemed llike a golden opp to inspect the gun while it was still smoking.......I know I know we want to think the best of our fellow man.....I know the team has strong christian leadership.....i know that sometimes the devil is in the details....one of these eternal mysteries that will have no resolution.....

This was in Mesquite right? I saw a team comming out of the dugout after the game with a bat w/no end plug.

pretty sure you are somewhat mistaken. the force 98 bat that broke was a yellow worth bat, this happened sunday during the 11 am game and the girl used another girls bat the rest of the day. the end cap shattered , but was still attached to the bat. never saw what is described above regarding the purple bat. maybe it was another team. plus most of the girls on this team swing their own bats rather than sharing a "team" bat.

I didn't think it was Force....the way the previous poster takes a shot at "strong christian leadership" I figured he was talking about 14U and Axe...can the above poster please clarify instead of tip toeing around the issue.

This bat belongs to my daughter. As many know, this is a great bat that is arguably one of the best Easton has produced. When the endcap came off, the coach motioned for me to come and check it out. My daughter had just hit with it and hit one off the end of the bat and it snapped the end cap off. I showed it to an umpire for him to inspect and he told me to send it back to Easton to see if they could repair it. While I was showing it to him, the plate umpire confiirmed that she hit an outside pitch off of the endcap. I did not put the endcap back in and continue using it. Another girl on the team has the same bat but it's a 31" and used it for the rest of the day....My daughter's is a 32" and was not used for the rest of the tournament. I still have the bat and the endcap and we will be in Grand Prairie this weekend if you or anyone else would like to see the bat and/or endcap.

not your situation

the situation was at a 16u event
i was not slamming christian leadership there is not enough of it
i was referring to the team wanting to pray with other team at the end of the game which is fine, except when you want to pray about not getting hurt with illegal equipment

My daughter's team was playing at a 16U event in Keller that weekend and there was nothing illegal with the bat. I have sent it back to Easton for repair.
