Very well ran tournament, Mizuno did a great job hosting. If only they would have played with their own players I would have more respect for the team and their ablities!!! There were no easy pools in this tourney if a team made it to the end it is because they played well enough to do so. Congrats to the top three you earned it and keep working hard!

Could you explain what Mizuno did such a great job at as far as hosting? I'm not saying they didn't, I was not even there. I'm genuinely curious.

On a side note, what do you mean by "play with their own players"

I would guess that half of the teams present were borrowing players from other teams. Someone might argue that, but if you were to look at rosters from other tournaments many of these girls would not have been listed on those rosters from this weekend but on the rosters of other teams that they normally play for. That was expected if you read any of the previous posts. There were teams online looking to pick up "bracket pitchers or utility players with bats" in order to play with them at Mizuno. Please be clear - THIS WAS NOT ALL THE TEAMS! I would say 50/50.

Congrats to the teams that made bracket. Anyone that was not there doesn't realize how hard these girls played all weekend and how many spectacular plays and games there really were. Those that came through pool truely rose to the occasion -

Cobras, Ok Force, Phantomz, Bombers, Kruzers and Mizuno

I would argue that all 6 of these teams are poised to make a run at any national tournament.

What I mean by playing with their own players is there were at least 3 or 4 or their players wearing Anderson Express helmets, and parents sitting in the stands wearing Anderson Express shirts. It was pretty loud and clear where they got their pick up's from

Softball Texas....all I can tell you about what I know about the one new player for Mizuno is that she wants to join their team from what I was told. You can say that she was a pick-up all you want, but if she plays with a team the rest of the year I guess she wouldn't be considered a pick-up player right?

In case you were wondering about all of the Anderson Express shirts, I think a bunch of them are with the 2000 team and they were out there to watch some really good competition and learn a little bit form the good teams playing high caliber ball.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that someone would play the "pick-up" card when teams do it all of the time, what else is new. You still have to win the game, and no one player is ever responsible for winning a game especially an entire tournament of this caliber.

one girl in AE hat. had to get somebody as we had a girl with a broke leg and another one in a basketball tournament.

don't know about the rest of that, but she's a sweet girl and we appreciate her coming out.

worked out well. she threw a couple of games and put in some big innings at first when our catcher hurt her thumb and we had to move our 1b to c for most of the weekend.

thanks for coming, and remember to work on "looking like you're having more fun" its just a game . you'll play a lot of em. might as well enjoy em while youre there boo-nukka.

As a general spectator out to watch what I knew would be good ball, I personally spoke to many parents and coaches from different teams that had nothing but good things to say about the tournament, Mizuno coaches, players and parents, etc.......just saying.

I truly believe you. I was asking for more specifics as to what they did exactly that made them good hosts. I know it's extremely hard to work a tournament and play in it so I give a lot of respect up to the parents, coaches, as well as the players for doing so. I was more or less just trying to get an idea of what kinds of things the public likes out of their host. Did Mizuno coaches rake the fields in between games? Were the Mizuno players working the concession stands friendly? Did Mizuno parents fill the water coolers in between games? Specifically, what was it? For anyone else who wants to create a new ID to defend Mizuno, this isn't a shot. I hear how great hosts are all the time and I'm asking for a lot of reasons relevant to supporting the sport. If it's just that you had a great time because you're team did well, but didn't really notice anything Mizuno actually did, that's fine too.

As I stated in an earlier post, I was not there. I was just-a-watchin, but I had to do my watchin in Keller this weekend. I wish I could have made it, sounds like some great softball out there.

Just to clear the air

Mizuno99 - did have ONE player from Anderson Express 99 - the remainder of our roster have been with us for a while now.

As far as this weekend, she was on our roster as a pickup player, but she is now on our roster as a permanent player.
