10U Tourney in N Richland Hills

I also would like to say "Thanks" to North Richland Hills and the umpires for holding such a good tournament. The rain tried to beat everyone this weekend however NRH's and the Cobra's stepped up and struck a victory.

Regarding the game of the Roughriders vs. OK Bad Girls. I knew going into this game there would be a lot of "drama". This team is known for it!!! I was told on Saturday night the pitcher from one of the other teams hit one of the OK Bad Girls on accident and when they was shaking hands the pitcher got slapped in the face by one of the OK Bad Girls. The tags during our game in my opinion was extensive and uncalled for in my opinion however it is what it is. It is unfortunate the parents and one of the coaches from the OK Bad Girls was flying the "F-bomb" as much as they was during this 10 yr old event.

It was mentioned in a earlier post, it came down to the last inning. I guess you can say that it did take all the innings of the game to win, however the RoughRiders beat them from inning #1 to the last inning, 5-0.

That team should be ban from playing anywhere in Texas. Beware tournament directors, you should really consider this. You have the ability to control this kind of problem. No 10 y/o or team should be allowed to get away with that type of behavior. I am glad that it is out in the open. They will surely be ban from any of our future tournaments. We don't need an extra $50-75 we make, to deal with teams like that.

I think the bad girlz have been banned in a few areas in TX. They are horrible, worst parents and coaches I've ever seen. We sure don't need the gangsta's type in softball. I saw them in the parking lot and what a crowd. Keep them in OK. We don't need them here!!!!

Walked in on the back side of this fight and it was the Oklahoma Bad Girlz team parents that were removed unless I totally missed a second fight. I have no idea what play or call led to the fight/arguement but it really doesn't matter. It happened when the Rough Riders and Bad Girlz were playing. I don't think Southern Edge was involved at all. They were on a different field. I guess there could have been two fights though. The games between the Edge and Black Sox and the Rough Riders and Bad Girlz got heated - I mean competition wise. Both games were for the right to go to the bracket round. Winning team in each moved through and they were closely contested games with the teams that won winning in the last inning. Congrats to the girls and shame on the parents. It is 10U ball and not exactly a national title on the line. GRAB A REALITY CHECK!!! I feel sorry for the kids whose parents felt it appropriate to EMBARASS their teams in such a manner. The coaches need to deal with this type of behavior.

Congrats to Mizuno on winning as well as the Bombers for playing so well. That was one heck of a game. And the above posts are correct, either team could have won on any given day. Look forward to catching some of the games next weekend.

FYI - came in during last half of the day (pool) and for bracket just to watch - wanted to catch championship game and saw some people with lots of electronics working the championship game. Anybody know what they were doing? Seemed like a lot more than video taping a game. Was standing over on first base side and none of the parents seemed to know. Just curious.

the game was broadcasted over the internet for some parents of the Bombers who could not make it. that is what i was told. anyone could have watched but had to become a fan or something like that. u know technical stuff lol

Now, if that's what the Bombers' were doing, that is freaking awesome!! I love technology!! I saw a lady with an IPAD out there from Bombers too,,,,but, it's all good..people can bring new advances to the game for stats and helping parents that are back at home keep up with the games and all...

but, can we just stop having ITB games with the Bombers...I think I have shaved off about 22 1/2 hours of my life from stress watching my DD try to put these games to rest!!

Great job Bombers, all of the Banter back and forth was with the WHOOOO Guy!! Hopefully next time we can both score more than 1 run when we play!!

You guys are really tough, and I would like to just play games like that...if you played nothing but games like that, every weekend, the sports world would be a better place, WIN OR LOSE!!

Congrats to all of the top 4 seeds for coming out of seeded pool play, CONGRATS to RR for 3rd, & Bombers for a fight to the death for 1st...

Don't normally post but the above is correct. My best friend and I were televising the girls' games for our parents, grandparents and friends that could not be there. This became an issue since our team started travelling so much this year. The 99's will only play one or two tournaments at "home" this spring season at least at this point and that leaves a lot of parents and family unable to make the trip 3-4 hours to Houston and Dallas. Also, we have at least 6 girls on the team whose older/younger brother/sisters also play on different travel teams leaving a large majority of our families split every weekend. The technology is available so we figured out a way to use it. The people at home or otherwise just need a computer and internet access via land line or aircard and they at least get to be a part of the game. And yes, I had an ipad out there this weekend. We use that to do online streaming of play by play that can be accessed on phones wth internet for those that can't or don't have internet access where they are. Between the two, we can cover the majority of people who would like to follow our games.

I am not soliciting this stuff, but since I had at least 2 dozen people come ask about some version of what we were doing and the topic came up, I thought I would at least offer the information. Anything that allows parents and families to be more apart of the team and the girls should be shared.

On a personal note, congrats to the Mizuno team. We look forward to playing you guys again. It was fun. And for all the compliments to our girls, I would like to offer a sincere thanks. Like most of you, our girls work very hard and the core group has been together since they were 7-8 and have really worked their way through the ranks so to speak.

Not to be a tool or anything but....... What if I was a parent on the other team who did not want my child televised? Do you ask before a game? Pehaps I misunderstood. Webcast or T.V.?

It is a webcast and can't be viewed without a password but regardless, given that there were at least 5 teams video taping games not sure that anyone has room to complain about this. My webcast is locked down, the videos the other parents were taping are showing up on utube.

It is a great idea, but the previous comment on permission from all other participants to telecast is interesting and perhaps an obstacle. Don't want to poo poo the idea...but I remember when a parent of another team came to one of our parents and asked him to stop filming his DD who was the pitcher. He was actually filming our batters....As a courtesy, we stopped filming.
