Sorry to hear about your kids Macball. I know there are others that travel to play up here and with gas prices going up even more they might just have to do the same thing.

GAS PRICES GO DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had to make this difficult decision because we live in Boerne, Texas and gas is $3.50 a gallon. For those of you who don't know where that is, it's north of San Antonio on IH10, no less than 5 hours away from Dallas. My dd LOVES that team, their girls, and their coaches. She is heartbroken right now that we made her change to a local team that she can make practices with and play more locally (of course, except for the bigger tournaments). We have nothing but wonderful things to say about the Glory 94 and all their families who made us "out of towners" welcome and a part of their family; we are missing them already!!

OK, since nobody wants to ask. Who will "Red" be playing with? Didn't she once play for the Bombers?

I will give you my run down of the top 14U teams....

Texas Peppers-Great pitching. Nothing defensively just jumps out at you, but they play clean. They will not beat themselves very often. They are fast in the outfield. Average to below average range 1B, SS and 3B. But if they get to it, they do not make mistakes with it. 2B moves pretty well. Catcher has a gun.

Tazers- Solid team. Above average pitching, but not great. Make some defensive mistakes but overall a very solid team. 3B and SS are both above average players. 2B is a weakness and 1B is where the pitcher who is not starting rotates to. Outfield speed is below average. These girls can hit! Catchers all do a good job.

GT Shockers- Above average pitching. Holes to fill in infield and outfield. Overall solid team, but needs some help offensively and defensively.

MC Magic- Always a scrappy team. Seems like they can play with anybody. I have never seen this team get blown out. Do not make a lot of mistakes. Coach likes to play "small ball" and they are pretty good at it. If you can't field a bunt, you won't beat this team! Infield and outfield solid but not great. Catching may be a little above average. Pitching is average at best.

Hawks- Have not seen much of them as they are a new team, but the few times that I have seen them, they are solid. I am not 100% sure, but I think several of their girls played for The Peppers at one point or another. Pitching is average, they rely on defense. Infield is solid, outfield is fast and makes plays. Catching is above average. Play very aggressive and make some mistakes because of it.

Of the North Texas teams that I have seen the 94 Batbusters were the cream of the crop. I have heard that they lost some girls (including the SS) and if that is the case, someone got a lot better and the Batbusters just lost a heck of a player. The (2) Glory teams were BOTH really good and played very clean ball. The Splash team (whatever they are now) is probably the best overall 14U team in the state. They are a 2nd year 14U team and that makes a lot of difference. They play very good ball and are strong in every position.

The Hall of Fame Qualifier should be fun! :D

Rumor has it that she joined the Corp (Thompson) in San Antonio. This will make this team a lot better. They can hit and score runs against anyone, but consistency of pitching was always the problem.

Well they may have lost their shortstop, and she went to fusion (sidwell)..but in her first tourney with them, they didn't even place 5th!!

Hope they don't decide to jump ship there too!!

They didn't place fifth, but it was a good 16 U tourney in McKinney...not 14U, and it was her first tourney and like the third or fourth day on the team.....can't read anything into that

not to mention with the lame excuse...4 14u teams finished 3rd-6th, behind the only two competitive 16u teams even in the tourney.

Lori, you really are some kinda special person to get on here and bash a 13 year old girl. I really figured you would have something better than that since from day one you have been nothing more than a BB hater.

Apparently you know nothing about the kid you are bashing, not only is she a great player, more so she is a great kid who doesn't deserve having you make comments that it is apparent you know nothing about.

Regarding the Peppers ---> "Average to below average range 1B, SS and 3B"

When asked how many times she hit Tiger with the golf club, she responded, "I'm not sure...put me down for an 8!
