10u pitchers

by krewl2bekind » Thu Apr 15, 2010 9:05 am

Cenla....what you afriad you can't go win it with the team you have? You have to pick up players? What are you going to do in Nationals?

Kingwood...what happen to them? Grapevine says there are breaking up? If they do they need to do it quick so some of the players can find a team.

TPS...has the Gulf Coast K girl joined the team perm.? They needed another pitcher.

Sneaky Cleats very good team, they always seem to beat Cenla, maybe that's why they need another pitcher.

Knucklecurve,

Simply for clarification, and I think that you are aware of it, the D-Bat (Blacksox) team is the one that is being referenced, and not D-Bat (Savell). Not sure who 2leftturns is associated with, but just wanted to be sure that readers understood which team you were referencing. We will be hosting a 12U in Southlake the weekend of the Mizuno Invitational or you can bet that my DD and I would be present and accounted for in the stands... should be a great treat!

Just to make sure there is an understanding, in Oklahoma, all of the girls that have to move up because of age move up in fall. So, all the 98's moved up last fall, not this spring. We don't pick up players to try to win tournaments, we play with the team we got. Our team has never had a 98 on it, even when we went to Colorado and Texas last summer and fall.

We wish everyone down here would as well follow Oklahoma's lead. Unfortunately, unless the TD cuts them out, 98's could play until December 31st here and frequently did. Our organization doesn't allow players to "play down", but many will just to get a few trophies in the cofer.

I know the OK force team didn't have any 98's when they were at Southlake.

THe Bombers have never had a 98 on their team.

The Blaze did in the fall but I think it was either pick up players or don't play as they only had 9 players WITH their 98's.

The Glory pitched a 98 all fall and rode her pretty much every game.

Kruzers as far as I know only had 99's and didn't use 98's last year, unless maybe they did for the 12U tournaments they played.

TPS team had a 98 pitcher most of last year. They have picked up players intermittently to take to tournaments. So has Kingwood as well as the Cobra team. This is notoriously common in Houston.

In fact we were playing in the older tournament in Houston a few weeks ago and I watched 10U girls changing uniforms in the stands and getting on different teams once their team lost in the single elimination. One girl played on 3 different teams that I saw. The tournament directors comment was that rosters weren't "important" this early in the year and the girls just needed to play. Unfortunately, that tournament was a POINTS tournament for USFA and really should have been more closely monitored.

Most of the TD's really try to monitor this but there is no rule against what we refer to as "playing down" in the fall. There are entire teams of 98's that played 10U until December 15th just to try to beat up on the 99's and win trophies. The funny thing was, they never really won much and are getting CLOBBERED right now in 12U. We just do our thing and know it is the best for the girls.

I agree with whoever posted however....

All the teams going to Mizuno - show up with YOUR team. Not someone else's girls. Otherwise, does the win really mean that much? Are you just after the almighty "trophy" and glory of winning? And if you think the people on this board won't know you picked someone up and advertise it, think again. That just diminishes the game. Please think of that before you "load" your team with others. This tournament is going to be a great one. Let the girls win it or lose it in the right fashion --- on the field. What are you teaching them by picking someone up just to try to win. Not much in my estimation. But I guess each to their own.......

I have not heard that they're breaking up, but have been posting for a couple of players for sometime now.

At this time she still plays with the GC Kaos, but picks up with TPS when her team is not playing.
I'm sure the effort to steal her away is there! ;)

Just a quick question for D-Bat Savell. I see that there are 2 99 D-bat teams, yours and the newly named 99 D-Bat (Black Sox). What makes them the "national team" and yours the "local"? And who determines that? Ok I lied 2 questions.

This is a Cenla Heat parent, so if you have any questions about our team I can answer them for you. We are not picking up another pitcher for the Mizuno tournament, there is no need to. We have been winning tournaments with the one we have. Another note we played Sneaky Cleats in Shreveport a couple of weeks ago and beat them both times. So get your facts straight before you talk.
