Anderson Bat Q & A

What's on your mind?

How does the new KFP meaure up to the Nanotech? It does not appear the KFP has the launchpad technology. Is the KFP the replacement for the Pyrotech?

The "true weight" designation is a marketplace term and refers to the actual scale weight. Based on the center of mass, the moment of inertia, the overall length and the measured total weight we have established the swing weight of a bat. The calculations began with real marketplace examples, we measured more than a thousand of our bats and competitor's model bats, and we established two very different specifications, swing weight and overall (true) weight. By manipulating any one or combination of those specifications we can make the same weight swing as though it is lighter or heavier. The distribution of weight can skew the numbers dramatically.

We tried very hard to educate the buying public to this system but we were met with some resistance. Apparently we did not explain it well enough or it was too complicated for marketplace consumption. We have persisted and your question demonstrates that some of the info has gotten through.

Every Anderson bat has a solid machined knob. The weight of the knob is transparent to the swing and some would argue that it even helps the swing speed. I am such a believer. However, let's just say it is transparent. That means every Anderson Bat has an effective weight of one full ounce less than the scale tells you. If I were to add additional weight to the knob it too would be transparent and handle weighted. The NanoTek swing weight was adjusted very differently so it is not specifically handle weighted beyond the solid knob.

The K-series bats are a replacement for the PyroTechs.

Will the Nano Tek be made in an end loaded version like the Rocketech or will the DD's that love end loaded need to stay with that model?

Thanks TB. Sounds like the Nanotech is the way to go.

The end-loaded NFP is in test right now at several colleges. The project slowed when the NFP was released and sales blew up. The project will resume when we get ourselves out of dealer backorder status.

it's also hard to find all of the info that's in here now. But It's cool to have some where to answer the questions.

I for one have read all 49 pgs. and will continue to read. The FIRST thing I do when looking at hey bucket is check this thread...

So DD is still swinging the 31/21 tech in games (highschool) but has FINALLY started using her Nano 32/22 in practice. She was on the edge with the 31/21 and does thing the 32/22 is heavier but really is swinging it pretty good in the cage. Being a freshman on a varsity team with 7 seniors (going for 4th consecutive league title) is tough for her right now, so staying with her bat is better for the time being. I do think at some point she will change to the nano. As soon as she does, I'll try and post some picks of the new bat in action...

If she is swinging a Rockettech now, it must be a 31/22, right, since the tech are all drop 9's? The Nanotech might "feel" heavier since it is slightly longer. I do not know since I have not actually held a Nano in my hands, yet.

Does anyone still use the method of holding the bat out from the body for a number of seconds to guage whether the kid can actually swing the bat? I am guessing that with the Anderson method of adjusting the swing weight, this old method is moot, but just checking.

No worries Blades, that was my confusion.

Does anyone know the difference between the 2009 Techzilla FP and the 2010 Techzilla FP and the 2011 Techzilla FP other than graphics? As far as I can tell structurally they appear the same.

Oh, and the DD decided she wanted another TZ.
