New OCVarsity So Cal Softball Rankings

by Carlos Arias » Tue Apr 13, 2010 11:36 am

My name is Carlos Arias. I cover softball for the OC Register and OCVarsity.com. I covered the Faster to 1st Classic, the Michelle Carew Classic and a lot of big game, so I decided to start coming out with the So Cal Softball rankings since I get to see many of the top teams in the state.

Here is my top 5:

1. Valencia (Valencia) 16-3-1

2. Etiwanda (Etiwanda) 13-1

3. Santiago (Corona) 16-0

4. Ayala (Chino Hills) 16-3

5. Norco (Norco) 14-6

Check out the link to see the entire top 25:

Thats not a bad "rough draft" Santiago seems really high for who they have played. 10-20 you need to take another look at. But not bad for a first time :D

Carlos, you are an unsung hero for high school softball. Thanks for all the coverage these past few years.

Stan, what is up with the forehead tattoo?

I'm going to see Santiago vs. Mater Dei on Saturday. I'll let you know if they are overrated.

Nice to hear from someone who doesn't know what they are talking about....

First off....Perez is the very BEST HS Coach in California....If you don't believe....Just ask HIM....He'll tell you!

Secondly, Norco is more a lot more over-rated than Santiago!

Norco has played a great schedule. A very young and talented team.
