WHO ARE THE 9 X 14U-A TEAMS WHO ARE PLAYING IN GARLAND?

Yes...names please? ALL 9 of those elite "A" teams...? I think I might want to bring my team over and observe all those fine-tuned, highly developed skills. Then of course...go back to Keller and laugh in the face of all the VTD scrubs who dare play this weekend.

You know I can appreciate everyone's astute observations about the various talent levels of the teams at 14U. I always appreciate any useful information about the different teams and it is exciting to hear when someone is doing well.

I know that there are several teams in Keller that would love the challenge of playing in Garland this weekend and in the coming weeks perhaps the mess that the adults at VTD and ASA have created will work itself out and allow coaches to plan for these teams to meet in tornaments.

I would question the character of the people in these posts that use terms like scrubs and turds to talk about young people and vounteer coaches that spend hours in working to bring honor to DFW softball. I would ask that if you worked as hard on your own character as these teams do on their skills then this forum might serve to improve DFW softball and not become a cesspool for bashing my daughters and their teammates. I resent the namecalling. I would invite you to come to one of our practices and call my athlete a turd or scrub to her face and see if you can then make it to your car in one piece.

I think that good teams playing good teams brings the level of play up to a higher level. Ever heard that a rising tide raises all ships. It is the dream of ever coach and athlete to strive to be the best.

Do not blame the players and coaches if the system that is designed to make things better is broken by too many groups trying to organize things in their own way. IF VTD and ASA USSSA IFA and PONY were able to work together than all of DFW softball would improve honestly.

Intheknow...I'm sure all those teams appreciate your astute observations, analysis, and unsolicited appraisal. Let's see... your deleted post offered comments like "Bad", "Idiot Coach", "Does this team ever win", "cesspool of talent" ...to describe 13-14 year girls playing softball???

Do us favor...and grow at least one micro-testicle, show up in Keller this weekend, and claim your post...and I'll get out my lawn chair to watch some dads (and moms) deliver an ass kickin'...

F'in coward...

I will not get into bashing any teams the way you have done here.
Simply looking at teh history and no more:

Ladycats-Alexander beat Texas Glory-Adkins (3 times) in Flower Mound.
They beat Texas Elite in Keller last month. (I know b/c I have a buddy whose DD plays for Elite. He says they were the real deal. The offseason changes they made were incredible). (his words, not mine).
They played TX Fusion-Rhodes to a 1-1 tie before settling the game in ITB last fall in G.P. (before their changes).
They played played Texas Showtime 3-times last year and won all 3 times. (before their changes).
Not sure which DBat you are referring to but they have beaten every DBat team they have faced so far (and they haven't faced them all, nor would I say they could beat them all).
Looking back at their history: The only team on this list that they have faced and lost to is Fusion.
I can't find where they have ever played OK Excel, 96 Diamonds, or 97 Glory (unless it was a friendly) but I did find where they beat 96 Longhorns quite handedly and I know the 96 Diamonds are about 50% - 96 Longhorns, so that might be a good game to see.

Found this on next week's NRH-tourney.
A coaches poll (whatever that is used for).

Top 3 teams:

Coach's POLL
1:Ladycats-Alexander
2:Glory-Poole
3:Elite-Bancroft

INTHEKNOW
I am glad you decided to delete that negative post about those teams in Keller.
I am not sure what you have against those teams, but I am certain there were 21 upset coaches. My guess is that you have not really seen all of them actually play this year, but you are going off a NAME (which is fine) but don't assume that because a girl (or a team) that doesn't play for a NAME team that automatically makes them not worthy of kissing the feet of the ones that do. It is up to each of the coaches (from each team) to choose where they want to play (or for what assoication). Don't make this into class warfare! I would say that most of the teams in Garland are from that end of Dallas and the ones from Keller are from the other end of Fort Worrth. If those 9 teams in Garland would have signed up in Keller, I wouldn't expect the Tarrant County teams to jump ship and move to Garland because they were so scared of the ELITE'NESS of those teams! Believe it or not: It's not all about money or plastic. Not all teams are finacially strapped for cash! When those Keller teams signed up and paid, they didn't care who signed up to play against them, nor do they control who signs up. It could be ANYONE. Luck of the draw. Most of these teams signed up and paid when ASA was not even an option yet, so don't come on here bashing them when they didn't sign up for a tourney you think they should have.

There are so many responses I would like to post, but at an attempt of brevity (which I will fail), I will have to make do with the following comments. First, Joe caught me last night in a moment of weakness. I was up later than normal and I had a couple of beers in me. I stooped to his level and engaged in "Porky's" style banter full of crude humor and raunchy site-gags. I am sorry to disappoint the numerous people who sent me personal messages egging me on to wage war against "this blowhard." Joe, if you want to consider this me taking another azz whuppin, go ahead, as Robert Barisford Brown would say, it's your prerogative. I will simply view it at what it really is: taking the high road.

To everyone else, go back and reread my posts. I simply stated that all of the 14U A teams (IMHO) would be in Garland. I did not say that all the teams in Garland are A teams. If you cannot understand that concept than perhaps you need to be taking the reading comprehension TAKS test this week. IMHO there are really only a handful of true A teams. I have repeated this numerous times before. This would include teams like the Kruzers, 96 Fusion, DBat Mulvaney, possibly teams like the Diamonds, Tx Elite 14U and Glory Poole. Again, my opinion, but based on what I have seen with my own eyes and based on the fact I have seen most of these teams compete at the highest level of tournaments.

Based on Huh's research it looks like they have only played Elite and Fusion from the above list. The Fusion game was pool play and that doesn't count, however they do get props in my book for playing and beating Elite this Spring. I stand corrected and you have my apology for my inaccurate blanket statement made last night. I will say this though, Huh if you want respect for your team, than play with and against those teams I listed above on a regular basis. Not that my opinion should matter to you anyway. I believe you have a really good team and perhaps they could compete with the best teams, but you will never know until you throw yourself into the deep end. Again, I could be wrong here but I dont believe I have ever seen your team at any type of qualifying tournament, and only until last Spring did your team begin to compete regularly at A or Open level tournaments.

All of this ASA/VTD discussion is a farce. Prior to this year, if you wanted to play a tournament, you signed up on VTD and played. Yes, you had to be a registered team; yes, you had to have insurance; yes, you had to have travel permits. I cannot speak for anyone else but nothing has really changed for us this year. We are still able to play when we want and where we want, regardless of the governing body. It is extremely naive though to say that ASA prevented your team from playing. Also, here is the difference in mindsets between the true A teams and everyone else. For the most part, they carefully choose which tournaments they enter based on the level of competition because they want the most bang for their buck, so to speak. That is why they are playing friendlies this Spring. They would be playing those friendlies regardless of what governing body is in place. They simply want to compete against each other. It is not about trophies or wins in pool play or anything like that. It is about throwing yourself into the deep end on a regular basis and seeing how you respond and react. If any of those other teams want to compete, then just make a phone call or send a text or email. Also, ask yourself this, why are not most of those teams listed above not signing up for the tournaments I am playing? Is it because they are afraid to compete against us or is it something else?
"Here's the deal, I'm the best there is - plain and simple. I mean I wake up in the morning and I piss excellence."
