Does your high school coach fall into the following categories:
1. Can't bring in a run with runners on 1 and 2 and no out.
2. Does not teach outfielders when to dive or block? Or how to take a proper angle on a ball.
3. Continues to throw changeups to the bottom of the order?
4. Sending slow runners to push stealing bases or not stealing a base with a fast runner when the catcher cant throw to 2nd.
5. Doesnt use small ball with 3rd base playing behind the bag.
6. Not moving players up in the batting order who on are a hot streak

Does this describe why high school coaches with decent talent lose.

Wow high school ball is such a joke. My daughter was 13 and 1 in 18u Fall ball. She has not seen the mound for her high school yet and they have a record of 15 and 9. Her school stands a good chance of not making the play offs. Her coach will ride the current pitcher no matter what. I guess I could be thankful that it may be over soon. Hopefully my DD won't want to play for her high school next year.

Neither of our pitchers from DD's TB team are pitching much for HS this year, both coaches think it's more important to let the Seniors pitch, even though both of those schools are fighting to make the playoffs this season. When those girls have pitched (I think maybe 2-3 games all season), their team has won. I wish one of them would move into DD's school zone, maybe then DD's HS would have a shot at winning some real games :x 6 more games until the end of the season :D Who knows how long until all of our girls are done with the playoffs

I'm still waiting to hear about some good round robins in May, PM me if you know of any :!:

What do you do when you have a high school coach that "bully's" the team? A coach that basically has your DD's fate in the coaches hands? Holds a LOT of good players back? Especially the one's that helped the past couple of seasons be pretty successful?? A coach that makes threats if they hear you are still working out with your select team?.... QUIT HS ball??

That describes why some select coaches with decent talent also lose. Of course, the decent talent ends up leaving to find a better team. In HS, most families do not have that luxury.

HS coach told DD she could teach her better than the paid pitching coach she has gone to for 3 years. HS coach was a fairly successful pitcher in HS but not in travel and has not played in 5 years. Paid pitching coach still plays competitive fastpitch. Hhhmmmmm......
