10U NRGSL Mizuno Invitational...Whatever !

by alotaboutnothing » Mon Mar 29, 2010 9:03 pm

I guess Mr. Team Mizuno only wants to invite the 99 teams to insure that the up and coming 2000 teams dont ruin his so called 99 Invitational event. I will tell you that out of the 18 signed up, that 5 of the teams have been beaten by 2000 teams that would love to play in this event, but wait the 2000"s are not not invited...

Nonetheless,

good luck with your invitational and please dont forget to go ahead and order the pre-engraved "99"_ _ _ _ / _ _ _ _ _ _ trophies...

Thanks Spaz....you took the words right out of my mouth.

I am pretty sure that this will be one of the top tourney's in the country besides what is in California. I doubt the goal was to avoid '00 teams, but better yet find the best teams in the state and surrounding states and invite them to a tourney.

Some of the teams that signed up were not invited (one's at the bottom), they just signed up for the heck of it, but the field will be limited to the ones invited or cleared throught the tourney director.

there are 2 parts to an invitational: calling people and getting them to come. this has been in the works since the fall with the idea of getting teams from all over (right now there are teams from 4 states and odessa which oughta count as 5).

its a regional invitational event, and to make it happen it just has to be what it is.

started with 12 teams and expanded it some based on recommendations from some of the teams in the list. had to turn down a bunch of good teams and good friends because i dont have the facilites to let in everyone that calls who has ever won a tournament.

there are a teams in there we've never beat. but i think you can learn something from every loss -- and a lot of wins arent really good for much. it's about getting teams that dont see each other much and letting em play.
