The people at the ICGSA must be smoking some good stuff! They must have forgot about graduation!!
4A CG #1 No way!! Carmel a better bet!
3A New pal?? Think again! Will be decent, but no repeat!!
Not enough knowledge for the other 2 classes!

Does Center Grove have a pitcher on the roster?

As with most preseason polls, it's based on last year. The state champs are the state champs until someone knocks them off.
Every man lives by a code:
1.Always look cool
2.Never get lost
3.If you get lost, look cool

CG does have pitchers on the roster. Are they as good as the pitchers that graduated? No, but few are. Are they worthy of the No. 1 ranking, probably not. Will they be better than most think - definitely. IMHO the change to 43' will actually be a benefit to CG. Our pitching wasn't going to dominate at 40' anyways so the change to 43' shouldn't have a huge impact. We will still have to play defense. However the extra 3' feet will allow our hitters to have a fighting chance against excellent pitching such as Harmening, Thomas, etc. The question will be can those teams (i.e. Southport, Whiteland, etc.) play defense when the ball gets put into play instead of a strikeout.

Based on what I saw this on the travel ciruit this Summer, I would say that Carmel should definitely be Number 1, Whiteland should be in the top 5 with their talent (not convinced they have the coaching though). I would also submit that Roncalli is better top to bottom than New Pal.

Turn two,

I know New Pal returns 7 of 9 hitters from their lineup last year, and we return 3 of 9. We're no where near where we need to be in order to compete with New Pal, FC, Whiteland, etc. We've yet to field a ground ball or hit on our field. Sadly, our field is still a week away from playing on (and that's if it's windy and 65 degrees).

looking,
Lit up? They did hit every pitcher pretty hard, but i wouldn't say lit up! Whiteland will be alright, but not top 5! FC, as everybody knows has alot of talent, but "other " issues to deal with! That showed last night!!

Whiteland didnt really get "lit up"
It just looked like they had some jitters. Hopefully they got that out of their system before the big game against The Grove. They have about 7-8 seniors on the team and all are returning starters. They have the talent. i just hope coaching doesn't hold them back.
