Updates on High School tourneys - AISD or Round Rock ISD?

Curious to see which teams -- Woodlands, Bowie, Vista, and Austin - came out on top? Round Rock also had alot of strong 4A and 3A schools pitted against some decent 5A talent?

AISD tournament was won by The Woodlands HS

TWHS should have played Austin Bowie (who beat Vista Ridge earlier) in the 'Ship - but for some reason they played Vista Ridge... I am told it was because TWHS had already 'won' the tournament and Bowie wanted to play Brenham (who they had yet to play).

TWHS beat Vista Ridge in 10 Innings in the Ship. TWHS Pitcher took an outside pitch over the LCF wall for the game winner.

Woodlands coach is one of the best HS coaches in Texas. Surprised not to see Austin High in bracket.

I have observed Jorge coach games for about a decade, but never had a kid play for him. He motivates kids in a very positive way. He has a broad range of weapons to bring in baserunners. He tests catchers on the opposing side. Knows how to play small ball and execute squeeze plays. Compare him to the coaches of the powerhouses in recent years (Bowie, Vista, Plano) and I think he gets more out of his players. Woodlands parents talk about families moving to his district area in middle school so they can play for him. Daigle is also a master mind, but I dont like his style.

6 at Woodlands, 4 at Westlake. I have had a couple of kids in high school ball in several districts. This is coming to a close but it was fun. Do you have something against Richard?

He's starting his sixth year at WHS, 3 of the 4 years as the JV coach at Westlake. Jorgie's a good guy, but like any coach at Woodlands, Katy, Westlake, Plano, Smithfield, Southlake...they've inherited first class programs, facilities, equipment, and kids who have seen nothing but the best in training, lessons, club ball, etc. Jorgie's done an excellent job of assembling a group of club players and then getting the hell out of the way. Come talk to me when and if he gets a state title.

On the other hand, there are some coaches in South Texas who show up the first day at tryouts with their lawnmower to cut out a diamond of a pasture for their field each January. A handful of these guys truly develop young girls into athletes and D1 softball players...See Rudy Aguilar in Mission, Texas. No doubt..this guy's one of the best!

I think you'd have to include Coach Cindy Mosteller from Garland High School in those discussions as well. Her level of success and record speaks for itself! Honcho Out!
