My bank has a box to toss them into. They go to abused women.

Ask your cell phone company.

We save them in a box for when one of our DD's breaks hers ... I think the first 2 semesters at college went like this:

Lent fone to friend, friend tosses fone back and it hits concrete floor = 1 down

Visits Aunt for thanksgiving, places fone in Aunts large mixed drink = 2 down

Places fone under tire of jeep for traction in snow = 3 down

Laying in bed studying, falls asleep, fone falls off bed into cup of coffee = 4 down

Fone mysteriously stops working = 5 down

Fone losses ability to view text or ring, but can still call out = 6 down

Result: out of back up fones, purchased Track fone = embarrasment factor takes hold, DD works lifeguarding in summer and uses 1st weeks pay to buy new fone

3rd semester = no incidents reported

4th semester = fone partially melted in hot skillet full of dinner, still usuable

Many muchachos south of the border can use them. Goodwill will re-sell used phones.
