Who is actually going to the Frenso Force Classic?

by Bucket Mom » Sun Jan 31, 2010 10:32 pm

I keep reading that the Force Classic will still be a good tournament despite the fact that everyone appears to be going to the Socals Finest tournament. Usually by this time of year there is a huge list of teams on the Fresno Force web site listing the teams that are coming and the teams on the waiting list, yet this year there is no list at all. Am I the only person that finds this strange? So my question to you is.....who is actually planning on attending this tournament? I would love to see a list started so that we can see what kind of competition we are all looking at (if any) for the Force Classic.

Force Classic, where is the list this year?? My apologies in advance if I have missed it.

You will still have good teams and a big turn out in Fresno. You will not have the quality of teams in So-Cal by far.
Fresno screwed their own pouch with that tourney. When you have poor things that are involved in a tourney, then people will not want to return.
I wish they would put up a list to help make the decision easier? But probably will not happen soon. I e-mailed them a while ago asking whom they have penciled in or paid, and nothing yet.
If my team had enough money I would go down to So-Cal, but sometimes you have to settle for second place...IMO

The teams that don't make the S.CA tournament will go to the Fresno tournament, so just figure the Fresno tournament just became a "B" team freindly.

I think you hit the nail on the head Surehitter. I am anxious to see if anyone will actually step up and say "yes, our team is going to the Force". I have not heard even one team say that they are going this year.

I believe the best teams want to play each other and the So Ca event is where the best teams will be. I know of quite a few teams that will drive right by Fresno on the way down south to do just that.

Again I totally agree with you. There are not a lot of stand out teams in the Fresno area that everyone is dying to play, so anyone coming to the Force Classic will be making a drive and a hotel stay to do so in search of the best competition. To their credit, there has been good competition in the past but Socals Finest seems to be where the serious teams will be. It appears that there will be little or no competition in Fresnofor 12s or 14s, thus the reason for my posting. If you are a team that is actually coming to this tournament, please let it be known because the Fresno Force is not letting anyone know who or if anyone is coming.

If we are traveling for a tournament, I personally want to make sure it is for the very best competition so that we are not wasting time and money. Most teams can find mediocre competition in their own backyard, there is no need to travel to get that. JMO

The Force Classic has always been one of the "must do" tournaments each year, and it is a shame for So Cal's finest to schedule on the same day. It was the only really North vs South tourney we had. We have been there the last two years and enjoyed the experience.

If it was so "must do", teams would ignore So Cal Finest and still go to The Force Classic.

Didn't last year they charged $5.00 to get in. Everybody was saying the food prices were to high.

It looks like everyone IS staying in Socal. I am patiently waiting for even one team to step up and say that they plan on going to this tournament. Anyone?? Anyone at all?? :?
