Did everyone think we got our monies worth at the big DBAT Holiday Camp?

Very crowded, very unorganized, and very wet and cold for the outdoor portion.

One thing is for sure....D-Bat got there monies worth (in there pocket). I think camps this time of year are a bad idea just because of the winter weather. JMO.

Can someone give a breakdown of how this camp was ran? I'm not asking for a "Dbat Bashing". Did all the college coaches, that was suppose to be there, show up? What did they work on for the 1st 3 hours? Did the college coaches coach this?
When they split up to play real games, how did that go? Did you have a 10u or 12u pitcher pitching to a 18u gold team player? I know it will be alot to type but, if you will, just summarize as much as possible.

These three coaches all put on a camp for the American Freedom on Monday night and then also worked at the D-Bat camp today.

They really got their monies worth. They double dipped!

Where was the camp? Was there a good turnout? Did they have the schedule well-organized? Were any drills conducted outside?

I saw they had about four groups of atleast 30 players a group like a previous poster said they made tons of money off this. But I wonder how many of those girls were part of d-bat roster. I also heard that d-bat players are required to pay for d-bat lessons and there clinics, any truth to this?

That answer depends on what you expected for your money.

Every coach listed was there and I believe they did the best they could with what they had. The old schedule went out the window with the weather problem and turned into the kids getting three 90 minute sessions- defense, hitting stations, and live hitting. Live games got cancelled.

Quality depended on your group. The live hitting wasn't very productive unless you were a pitcher being scouted. Hitting stations were pretty good. The groups that got stuck inside for the defensive portion got screwed, especially the last group.

If your expectation was to get on someone's list and you have been doing your homework, it was possible. If you were hoping to get noticed because you have mad skills, probably not.

We still do not understand why the facility still let other groups and individuals (boys) in for lessons and such when they were trying to accomodate about 200 people. It was extremely crowded and they could have offered a free lesson another night as I am confident they would not have lost any money after today.

The college coaches should be commended. One could definitely tell they enjoy what they do. They were all still engaging and motivating after 8 hours of kids, crowds, and limited facilities.

The organizations that were well represented were Dbat, Glory, American Freedom, and Mizuno.

The camp was to be held outdoors at Craig Ranch however with the poor weather forecast it was moved indoors to the D-Bat Addison location. There were suppose to be drills all morning and then campers were to be placed on to teams and play scrimmage games all afternoon.

There were to be over 100 girls at the camp and I assume most of them went ahead and turned out even though the schedule was drastically altered and far different from what was advertised. It certainly appeared as if many of the campers showed up. They did conduct drills outside until the weather turned too poor, however they stuck it out in the rain and cold for quite a while.

Personally we did not believe that it was well-organized or planned. One of the biggest things Dbat could/should have done was to cancel out all their boys private, group, and team lessons however this was NOT the case. Those boys events took up several cages that would have allowed the camp to be broken into smaller groups. IMO, no way was DBat big enough to host that many players indoors (most places aren't)! Not to mention it was none to pleasant for players, college coaches, or parents to stand outside for the 90 min fielding session in 40 degrees and rain!
