Since there is all of these negative post all the time on heybucket...maybe in the spirit of the holidays we can start a strictly positive topic.

Name the number one best thing that your team or organization does for your DD or your players in general? There has to be something good that your team, coach or organization does or you wouldn't be playing for them....maybe you can share that one thing and it will help others with ideas of good things they can do and in the spirit of "pay it forward" it will help the overall softball community!

You know, all this whining about "negative post all the time on Heybucket" really has gone far enough. If I don't agree with your POV, that does not constitute a negative post, especially if what you say is stupid, or uninformed. (I don't mean you OP, I mean in general.)

Many of us come here for information and perspective. I don't expect everyone to agree with me, and the same should hold true in reverse. If I think you're FOS and call you on it, then you can reply likewise, and that doesn't even constitute "all this negative blah blah blah".

Heybucket is great entertainment, and helpful and informative, and being an open forum, not everyone will always agree on everything. That's the way it is everywhere, so how is that HB should be held to a higher standard?

So how about everybody stop prefacing their posts by condemning Heybucket as a means to introduce your "feel good" topics. If you want feel good stories, then say so, but not at the expense of the message board you are posting on.

Honestly - starting a "positive" thread off by noting a perceived "negative" - really?

I'm just sayin'.

btw, in the spirit of the OP, this post should be construed as "positive", or at the very least "constructive".

I AGREE! If you don't like what is being said then don't read it anymore. There is no negative or positive, just discussion. That's All!!!

I appreciate the thought and paying it forward and all, but I don't think it should be in the best interest of the best teams or organizations to share their trade secrets as to what makes them successfull, whether it be the coaching, recruiting, practicing, motivation, etc.

It starts with really good coaching with the younger age groups and the better the teams/organization the better the talent that comes to those teams. The older the girls get, it becomes the excellent players/athletes that make that team with some good pitch calling and small ball coaching.

You have to be a man to be able to deal with the negative, but all in fun chater that you see on here. Like my my mom used to tell me, "if you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen"!

Anonlooker is right. Another poster writes his version of what heybucket was started for but anon hits it more accurate. If someone is FOS or acting "all that", then someone who has been around has the right to send a salvo..... personally I dont want to know who all of you are on a first name basis and i dont want things sugar-coated... just facts and information about the teams and how the girls are doing and growing and getting better....

IMO, This is the time of year everyone should be breaking... taking time off from softball and catching up with familiy, friends & some chores around the pad... You know, weekend lit fireplaces, walks around the park with your spouse, not on the diamond in competition. And if you have nothing nice to say, take a break off from Heybucket also.

Maybe WE should just grow up!!Alot of this is 10U or 12U BS!!(I live in indy!!) Read for fun! Alot of your kids will not be playing in 3 or 4 years! Just life! Enjoy your kids, It goes way to fast!! 1 in college, 2 in HS! It's over before you know it!!!!!

I agree with anon, but think the poster is referring to the TX village idiots rather than negative posts. I boycotted the TX boards for quite a while and found my faith restored (a little) in general human intelligence.

As for the OP, I would say fundamentals. The more, the better IMO.

BTW, there is rarely an entire thread that is "strictly positive". HB is definitely full of different personalities!

I agree that the whole argument about negativity on here is getting rather old. There are too many ways to avoid it if you dislike it. Another thing is that despite all of our different points of view on here there still seems to be an unwritten code of conduct. How often do you read people directly bashing a player or calling someone's DD out by name? It's very rare and is almost immediately squashed and the poster corrected by one of the board's veterans. There's quite a bit of positive in all of this "negativity" here on HB.
