Some persons seem to want to ignor how serious a problem it is for adults to commit these acts against our children. Joe seems to be formost in this and wanting to defend organizations instead of wanting to stop what is happening to children. Joe do you even have children??

The organization should be held accountable for what coaches associated with them do. The organization shouls accept this responibility and do everything humanly possible to prevent this from happening. I am sure there were some signs from the coach they should have picked up on.

But, parents don't depend on anyone to protect your children but yourselves. Educate them watch for signs of misbehavior on part of coaches. As you can see just because a coach is a woman does not mean your child is safe.

Joe, if I have spoken unjustly bad about you i am sorry. Please think about the children first instead of thinking of the organization first.

Tex is the only sane one here and the only person who actually saw through all the crap to the real issue.
Joe- thanks for keepin the hype up. beleive what you want. i dont care. not like you know me. who knows maybe i am a bomber and am willing to lose some face to be sure this kind of stuff is not swept under the rug and made all hush like usual. feed right into it, go ahead. like i said, at least people are still reading this instaed of other junk that doesnt really matter. and that means they are thinking about it .

Now can someone talk about measures to take to protect our kids from these creeps?

I'm sorry, but it doesn't matter. The reason it doesn't matter, is because she was not with the team when this happened. Everyone says there should have been signs and the org. should have seen it. Where is the parent responsibility in noticing anything? Did the parents just drop their kids off and leave?? Did the parents see something then go to the org and they didn't do anything about it? If that happened, then the org needs to fix things, but if it did not....what do you want them to do besides doing a backround check on their own and an ACE backround check that was done.

To me, it seems like you are pissed because your dd didn't make one of their teams or you wouldn't have brought up something that DIDN'T happen a year ago when the coach was associated with the team.

What matters is what happened to the girl that has come forward. What does matter is that if this is true then the coach needs to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and that this girl is taken care of. What does matter is that if there are any other victims out there, they need to come forward.

Some of your points are true. others are crap. read my previous posts for more info. the only thing im pissed about is that this happened to this poor girl and no body seems to care enough to talk about it.

What they CAN do is to TALK about what happened with their girls. EDUCATE them on these issues so that they can PREVENT it from happening to anyone else. have a meeting with the parents to discuss ways to keep this from happening. there ARE things that CAN be done besides a background check. Even if this didnt happen when she coached with this particular team or org. does not mean that it is not happening within some other team or org. and by people talking about it in the open gets people thinking about prevention. and it makes it a SAFE place for the girls to be open up about it if it does happen . because it happens a LOT more than people realize and the girl or bot NEVER speaks about it. this means the predator keeps preying .

as long as we have people focused on my means for gaining attention to this issue we are getting no where.

Had you even noticed, a whole thread was talked about this exact situation. The difference is you came on here making about the Bombers and they had NOTHING to do with this. This topic comes up EVERYTIME something like this happens. It is about the PARENTS educating their kids. NOT THE ORG. I would NEVER let a softball org. educate my dd on what I should be teaching them.

i did not see a thread. send me a link and i will post it . if it was there. i am glad. i agree that parents need to be on on this too. they should be number one in the teaching box. but arent all of us on here parents? so what is stopping you? have you talked to your kid about it? im not saying leave it totally up to the org to talk to the girls. heck orgs, dont talk to the girls talk to the parents. as long as they discuss it and educate.

about my beef with the bombers, you obviously do not know how to read. that is okay. keep getting defensive of your little org. i dont care. as long as you are arguing with me, you are creating drama and feeding my case. thanks a lot!! keep up the good work!
