What's up with Team Mizuno?

Due to our Coaching Staff's past/current record, they have proven themselves to be able to form these teams under the Mizuno name.

Looks like things changed since the post above was made. They now do list Trevino's old Texas Sluggers Gold team listed as their Team Mizuno Gold team. What a joke if this is what these coaches call a "national team."

Trevino has a great bunch of kids, but at best, this is a JUCO feeder program. It's not even a top 20 program in North Texas where you would take a talented 8th grader or freshman with hopes of playing at the Div. I or II level. Hopefully, no serious college-bound athlete's parents will fall for this viral marketing campaign.

No way that Mizuno's people really have anything to do with organizing this program or checking out their coaches' ability to "form these teams under the Mizuno name."

TXfastpitchsoftball guy!, You talk so big and bad like you know what you are talking about, but you do not! Our program has fed into D-1, Juco, NAIA here in the past and present. Folks don't listen to this guy. This guy is probably someone who was asked to leave our program so is now using his every effort to bash our program.

We don't, figure it's best to ignore people who bash organizations, if it's not related to something that a coach did on the field that deserves bashing, then it's best to just ignore TXFastpitch's poor posts...just go on, and start talking about something positive!!

So I just took the time to read all 9 pages of the posts in regards to this and I don't get it.

All I can say about Team Mizuno is "so what" and you should also. Your only interest in this should be in the following way.

1) If you think your daughter is good enough to play, contact them and have her try out.

2) If your daughter is not good enough to play or is already committed to her current team, shut up and move on.

What else is there to discuss?

Your replies are always so informative of the kind of parents, players, and former players who are part of your program. I'm sure that Mizuno is proud of who it's chosen to represent it in North Texas.

According to the Team Mizuno Gold website, they have sent the following to college programs:

Div. I - 1 (Grambling)
Div. II - None
Div. III - 1 (UT-Dallas)
JUCO - 8 (Cloud County, Angelina College, Frank Philips, Clarendon College)
NAIA - 2 (Mid-Ameirca Christian)

That isn't exactly a "national team" by any standard. I'm not "bashing" your program unless you think that revealing your true list of accomplishments placing players in college is "bashing."

Be proud of what you've accomplished in the four or five years you have been around, but don't put Mizuno in your name, claim a national sponsorship, come on to a national forum, and proclaim to parents of kids who want to play in major college programs that you're something that you are not without thinking someone is going to call you on it.

If you think you are even among the Top 20 college recruiting programs in North Texas then let's see where you think you rank.

Let me first say that I look forward to working with Coach Trevino and the Team Mizuno Gold team. The past is the past and moving forward I think that we all share the same vision of doing things differently and better than other organizations currently do it. Team Mizuno Gold was obviously already an established gold team before the new Team Mizuno organization was formed. Something unheard of this day and age, the two heads of each organization have come together to work hard in forming one of the soon to be more competitive programs to operate out of the NTX area.

In due time, I am sure with the efforts of all involved that Team Mizuno Gold will become a very solid team. Our long term plan is to become one of the top five organizations in NTX to recruit from in the minds of all college coaches.

That being said I doubt that any negative remarks or ill feeling towards what Team Mizuno is aiming to accomplish will prevent them from building some very solid teams in all age groups. It is obvious that the Team Mizuno '98 team is already on the right track by building a team to take to California and compete with some of the best teams in the country. I don't recall a young team recently to show that kind of competitive spirit in the hopes of building a national power here locally. Good luck to all teams representing Team Mizuno next season.

First, you were clear to point out that Trevino had nothing to do with your "organization", but now you're one and the same. Did Trevino's Gold team join an "organization" run by a 12u dads, which sure sounds strange, or did the 12u dads join the third reincarnation of Trevino's 18u "B" team? Who did Mizuno put in charge here when they decided you guys were the coaches to represent the Mizuno name in North Texas and build a nationally competitive team because it's clear Trevino hasn't despite his best effort and two name changes.

And Slapleather . . . way to "slap" the other 12u teams out there in North Texas who you apparently believe lack "that kind of competive spirit" or goals to be nationally competitve like you guys. I'm sure you'll find you are getting less and less popular at the ballpark after every post here on heybucket. Any parent of a future college athlete has to have seen through your viral marketing compaign by now. Glad I could play a part.
