Normally I tend to agree with "justawatcher" on his take on things but the statement...

"Plus this is such a weak B-ball tournament in the Winter. Who cares?" really smells of a bit of conceit. The team you associate yourself with has made great strides but it wasn't too long ago that they were a 10U B team with no shot at beating teams like Shadows, Cyclones, Force, and Legend. Let's not act as if your team was always an A team. They are successful now beacause the top 10U teams moved on.

VTD has stepped up big time and shown that they want our kids to play softball. Way to go Allen Richardson you are a stand up guy that puts the game first.
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Good for You !
Glad the girls are gonna' be able to play.
DD is done 'til spring, so we might just drive down to watch some softball and buy a few hot dogs. Why don't LET'S ALL GO ? It would be fun to try to guess who everybody is.
I'll go ahead and out myself...I'll be the Biggest White Man there from Texas..(ergo: texas snowman :o )

Note to TD: Please monitor the quality of your hot chocolate.
Firstly...It needs to be HOT
Secondly...It needs to have those little marshmallow thingys in it.
Thirdly...It should be possible to order a Route 44 Hot Chocolate...I weigh 300 lbs. A dixie cup of hot chocolate does me no good.

I think many have misunderstood what I meant as many have sent me private messages. I was not trying to offend any of the teams in this tournament but I obviously did. Late year tournaments are weak for a lot of reasons. The officiating is worse, the TDs care a lot less about following the rules, the cold weather makes it tough on the kids, etc. etc. Like it or not, the powerhouses are not out there which does in fact make it a B tournament. I may have poorly worded what I wrote but the intent was on the silly rules of this tournament. The guy wrote a term paper worth of regulations geared towards stopping abusers of the clock. My point was simply that this is a tournament with no national implications that some guy is rewriting the rulebook over. For the record, it was not a shot at the quality of teams and/or players. If anything it was a shot at a goofy TD.

Live, I can tell you this-I only truly know one of those teams you mentioned and if the team my youngest plays on ever played them, they would get the snot kicked out of them. :o

I have a question for those who are so adamant that VTD is the end all for NTX softball. If, in fact, VTD is a far superior product than ASA, why do the proponents feel the need to negatively promote it? It seems to me that if it is that much better than ASA, you could promote it without running down the competition.

IMO the weaker product MUST resort to bashing it's main competition in order to survive if it offers nothing better. If it does, the product will speak for itself. Why don't you just let VTD compete with ASA and see who runs a better show without the political mudslinging?

If I were weighing one against the other, right now, I see a lot of very negative people associated with VTD.

Political mudslinging??? Shutting down a tournament 5 days out?

ASA shut it down, VTD resurrected it... so a few can play this weekend!

Please get your facts straight Cheriff...before any of that...

....ahhhh...."political mudslinging" and biased opinions.
