Top 10U teams in the state

there's a 10u and 14u in wht stlement, Rampage I don't think have ever played a 14U, that's stupid for 99's to play up that high, and dangerous...so, look in the 10U out there this weekend

I don't know if this will be a solution to you guys melt down over this topic but I do recall a little over a month or two ago a '98 team going and playing in a 14U tourney and actually placing 4th in it and people had issues with it, why I am not sure.

I think that this debate belongs on the "teams playing up is becoming an issue" forum.

Right, back to the topic at hand, I saw your post in the teams from houston forum, and I agree on the kids from NTX, people should keep eyes out, there are a couple from the area that throw hard and in the strike zone, and can put the ball, pretty much where it is called to be (for their ages respectively)...and like I stated, rampage has 2 girls, not just 1, that can throw some pretty quick balls in the range you stated (48-53) consistently, next year...they could do some good things...

I hear that there is a team in NTX that has a couple of girls that might be throwing 50 to 55 next year, so I might keep an eye on them because I have been told they are already throwing 48-53 pretty consistantly.

Who is the NTX Team? i might go on a little scouting trip this weekend and report back to the board.

I don't think it matters how hard anyone throws if the ball doesn't move. Those balls just get to the fence faster, that's all. just my thoughts.

Yes, that's true, and a very good point...which is what I was speaking to, "movement" and "ball placement"...along with throwing pretty quick...but, yes, you are right, hard, down the middle, gets hit to the fence, if not in the first inning, definitely in the 2nd or 3rd...

In my humble opinion there are three great teams in South Texas. Cobras, Angels, and Crossfire and one of those should win State and all three should do well in Florida if they go. With these teams, it will depend on who gets hot at the time.

There are a couple of really good teams out there as well, TPS99, Phantomz, Edge and they are capable of beating my top three at anytime but are a couple of players away from being in my "great team" catagory. With that being said, if one of these teams gets hot at the time, they could very well win state.

I tell you what though, I am proud as heck of all the talent Iv'e seen so far this fall on a lot of different teams. All the girls have worked hard to get where they are and the dads and coaches also deserve kudos for getting them there.

Even though that this is no the correct thread, I can help end the debate about the playing up issue and add to what Slapleather said. The 14U tournament a few weeks back was played in Midloathian. My daughter is friends with a few of the players that are on the team that took 4th. This was their first tournament out of 10U and they are about a 50/50 split of 98's and 99's. There was debate that they should not be allowed in the 14U tourney but they did send 2 true 14U teams home. They then took 3rd in their next tourney which was their 1st 12U tourney. They seem to be a well coached team and the girls seem to just have a bunch of fun when they are out there.

They are playing in the 14U tourney this weekend in White Settlement and using the same team that they've had all along so.

To those of you who havent see a team play, please stop bumping your gums about them being one of the best teams in state. i have seen them play several times, they had one good tournment, and that doesnt make you a big dawg. the true test will come out soon when its a 100 degree in southtexas. anyways im not a crossfire hater im just a realist ive been around this softball stuff for a while now, and ive seen plenty of good games. i just call it like it is, if you are good i will give it to ya . But, if you are only hearing about it and have not seen it then just be quiet please.

The guess' will be just that...guess', until we get past the 1st weekend of May, from the Bomber Classic to the Mizuno Invitational, we won't truely know who the top three teams in the state are til then. I actually enjoy seeing all of the thought's and to see how accurate people's estimates will be. I would like to see everyone's top three picks right now and then re-visit this topic in mid May. I realize we don't know what might happen to certain rosters between now and then, but that is part of the game!!!
