Female coach accused of affair with 15 yo female

What's on your mind?

by Sparky Guy » Wed Dec 02, 2009 7:23 pm

All I can say is WOW! I read the first few posts this morning only to come back this evening to find the thread has degenerated into name calling, insulting the other posters intelligence, along with grammar lessons in the use of the English language. There are few among us who can compose a grammatically perfect piece of writing. Myself included. We are all adults, so lets act like it.

As for the original post in the thread, it is disturbing to say the least. Did this coach use undue influence on this girl with her being a coach? Did the girl go willingly? Did the girl want to experiment with something and became scared of consequences? Is this coach a predator or did she exercise poor judgment in an isolated case? There are many, many things we'll never know, and some things we'll find out once it's all over.

As for the whole lesbian thing and sports. Yes, they are there, but I don't believe in any more numbers than in the general population. With nothing but females around it tends to skew the perception on a female team. My daughter had lesbians on her HS and college teams. The biggest difference was the they came out once they hit college and were away from the everyday influence of their family. There were also girls on the team who were alcoholics. Some who were very loose with whom they let in their beds. Another one dated a guy who nearly 15 years older than her. Others had one boyfriend, and few had psychological issues. All of these things are pretty much what you get in the general population.

I've read articles and watched some programs about young people and their sexuality. It seems there is always a young person who they interview who says they "knew" they felt different inside when it came to their feelings towards the opposite sex and the same sex. Some "experts" say we're hardwired by nature when it comes to sexual preference. Others believe it's outside influences. As for me I don't know, but there have been multiple studies done on the subject.

I guess the biggest issue here comes down to the age difference and did the coach coerce the girl with undue pressure. That is something that must be worked out by the people involved with the case. Calling each other names here does nothing useful.

LMAO!

I think I've identified the crux of the problem. You see, if you had sat through any first-year college writing class (or even basic high school writing, for that matter), you would know that "too" is spelled differently than "to," and that it's improper to randomly capitalize words in the middle of a sentence. Unless of course your instructor was, as is typically the case, a 22 year-old gender theory grad student who didn't know jack shit about writing but had all sorts of really interesting stuff to tell you about white patriarchal hegemony.

Here's an idea. Why don't you actually spend a little time on a college campus--in the unlikely event that they'll accept you, that is--and then come back and tell me how stupid I am.

Quite surprising that a man of your supposed intellect would learn basic spelling and capitalization as a first year college student .

That would be surprising. Maybe you can point out where I said that.

Skarp, if you are as smart as I hope you are, learn how to ignore trolls instead of feeding them.

You might go back and check your own grammer, punctuation, and improper hyphenation before casting stones.

I could care less about proper grammar, except when I'm being called an idiot by someone who can't form an English sentence and can't provide any basis for the insult. Then I'm a bit more inclined to "cast stones."

That said, aside from a hyphen between "22" and "year," which I could have elected to insert, there is nothing wrong with the grammar, punctuation, or hyphenation of my post. But thanks for suggesting the exercise. It was really fun.

Sometimes I like trolls, if they're ferocious enough. Joe was a good troll when he first joined. These guys...not so much.

It's tough to say whether homosexuality is to some degree hardwired by nature (although it wouldn't surprise me if a gene were someday identified). But it's a certainty that some environmental factors correlate to an increased predisposition toward homosexuality...things like molestation, abuse, etc. The science is unequivocal on that.

My own guess would be that a small percentage of people are strongly predisposed to being gay, and that an additional percentage are somewhat predisposed and are subsequently triggered by environmental factors.

And then there are those who are straight-up "flipped" by the machinizations of the womens studies coven. :o

lol. Legend...now that's funny.

I'm not quite sure why you're itching for a fight in the first place...unless LoneStarAsshat is a friend of yours or something. Which still isn't much of a reason...

Either way, pointless argument is entertaining for me, so if that's what you're looking for I'm probably game.
