12U TOP TEAM RANKING (Bracketologist) Updated After STATE!

by samsoftball » Thu Nov 26, 2009 8:57 pm

I think 12u is wide open. I heard Corona Angels picked up a #1 pitcher as did OC Frenzy. Power surge lost as one. O.C. Elite lost 2 pitchers and a catcher as well as an outfielder (not sure what is happening there). The Xpress picked up a couple fo players. You will see lots of movement. Press, Change and rearrange. Lets see who makes the better deals......

One pitcher will never win anything that counts in 12u

I know one who did and pitched all but 2 or 3 innings. 8-)

Exactly. Along with a depth of 9 good hitters, 8 great defenders and a good #2 to back her up.

Yeah, that helped too 8-) That being said, you can win at 12u with one pitcher, just don't go to the loser bracket, then all bets are off, unless your pitcher has a rubber arm.

Bracketologist's 12u Top Team Ranking – UPDATED AFTER CHINO!

Congratulations to OC BB-Ray for winning the ASA Turkey Chino Hills Tournament!
Ok. I watched some very good teams. Heard way too many parents talking about jumping ship………. Why? The 97 & 98 parents need to slow down .... give the coaches some time to figure out how to best utlize your DD. To play on Sunday at Nationals....everyone has a role!

We should have some great games at the AA Toys for Tots! Final poll for fall will follow T4T.

Updated After ASA Turkey Tournament

Newcomers to the poll

23. San Diego Elite (Manti)
27. So Cal Bulldogs

Biggest gainers

23. San Diego Elite (Manti) (+5)
20. Nemesis 97 (+3)
3. So Cal Breakers (+2)
27. So Cal Bulldogs (+2)

1. OC Batbusters Ray – (Previous Rank #1) Grade A
1st 12u ASA Turkey Day Tournament 11/29/09
Like I said last week - right now the best overall team in 12u. Team is unique and does not remind me of any past team. This could develop into a very good …. If the parents do not screw it up!

the coaches cant screw it up as well, there has been a lot of turnover on this team in the past two years, I cant imagine it all being parental issues, I guess time will tell
Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.

You are correct that the coaches can also screw it up and the team has a history of "above average turnover".... but the real key is they are getting better each time I see them - I bet there are 25 other teams in the poll that wish they had "the same turnover problem!"

PS. I learned my lesson last year - I did not understand and questioned the major roster moves that PowerSurge 96 made after last fall..... but in the end the moves were correct and the fall PS96 team would not have finished top 20 at Nationals without the additions. The changes also enabled another team to qualify and compete at ASA Nationals!
