I pegged Victory '98 to win 12u Nats a while back... nothing has changed, other than a few more of you are starting to notice... and it's only November!!
Don't worry about tomorrow. You did that yesterday.

Bracky, i have the answer you seek. The name of the tournament Bomb Squad 97 won was the "Southwest Showdown" held in Las Vegas NV on october 3-4. There were 8 teams, Bomb Squad being the only one from so cal.

Minors Gold at #4 is a stretch. They're a good team but not #4. Looks like a daddyball element to this poll. :D

In 14u two of the last three years a first year team won Nationals. Can't remember it happening in 12u ….. some have finished top 10.

My theory on why Campbell’s 98 Victory Team might be able to do it this year is:

1. The 97 talent pool is very diluted in So Cal – none of the top teams have a talent level that is equal to the American Athletics 97 team last year.
2. Out of the top six teams – how many of the teams have a leading pitcher that pitched meaningful innings at ASA 12u Nationals last year?
3. Victory 98 – already has three of the four key elements to win Nationals
4. Victory 98 has the best coaches, and they expect to win Nationals this year!

I'd hold off on all the "Victory '98 is going to win Nationals predictions", it's a solid team with some really good coaching but physically they don't match up with some of the top tier teams yet.
