What team is going to win the College World Series?

Everything you want to know about the greatest game

Of course everybody thinks that Oklahoma is a shoe-in and I most likely agree. But if you based your prediction on which team has the highest % amount of players from California (being the best state for softball talent!!!) this would be a list of predicted winners:

Washington - 60% from CA
Oklahoma - 38%
ASU - 37%
Tennesse - 35%

The lowest chances of wnning based on this predictor is Texas with 20%.

Amazingly all the teams that were eliminated except Oregon, hardly had any CA players on their roster. But Nebraska has 30% of its players from CA so the odds of them upsetting Oregon were high.

So my prediction is those 4 teams above will be in the semis and I will take Washington as a flyer.

The results are different if you focus on the starters and #2 pitcher instead of the whole roster. OK and UW are both around 70%... Michigan has 5 players from CA and they are all regulars, so they're at 50%.

As far as handicapping the WCWS, there is already another thread - http://www.heybucket.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=54315
