I simply got on to ask a question or two and I have found myself getting answers from a few people that seem to be on the PGF payroll...lmao Look, I am almost POSITIVE the TOP organizations will be at ASA Nationals defending titles and upholding their reputations. Thanks to the few PM'S from people actually involved for the info. Hope to see you guys at Nationals. Everyone else, good luck at your PGF Western Nationals...hahahahahha
I always booked well in advance since I felt confident we would qualify and I never found rooms for 55 a night in a place I would stay in, nor expect my families to stay in. Hope that works out for you.
Many teams that try two or three times to qualify do not book their rooms that far out and get much higher rates.
Let me just end by saying your last line shows what a homer you are and if you think you will be playing the best teams in Moline, well, enjoy your trip. It is not that far to field of dreams.
Here is the ASA published list of hotels.
http://www.molineasa.com/PDF/2012%20tournament/Preferred%20Hotel%20List%202012%20ASA%2012U%20National%20Tournament-%20Nov%2017.pdfThere are two $65 a night hotels. Not sure I would stay in either. You can stay in way cheaper hotels in LA. Red Roof Inn in Santa Ana says $60. I am sure you call and can get a better deal. The rest of the hotels on the ASA look equivalent in price to what you would see in LA.
More importantly. The cheap hotels at ASA nationals, and the pre-tournament published rates, is a new thing.
You can send a nice big thank your to PGF guys for that. 6 years ago we stayed at the Days Inn in Johnson City, an absolutely horrid place, for $105 a night. The next week you could get the room for $45. Hotel gouging at ASA was common and well known by all that attended. Kudos to Moline and Johnson City for realizing that teams were going to bale on them. But again, neither none of these cities would do this had PGF not come along.
As far as flights, it is easy to do a search. Right now NO to LA for the PGF dates is $405 and Moline is $429. But you better jump on them, cause Moline flights will go up as seats sell. LA will likely stay the same or go down.
ASA says their tournament is from 7/28-8/5 which is 9 days. PGF is 7/23-7/27, 5 days. Leaving you more time to enjoy family and sight see, instead of sitting in hotel while ASA drip drips along on their back loaded tournament schedule.
