A rematch of two mediocre offenses vs two strong defenses that might well will sway on whether or not Alabama found a kid who can kick field goals, or taught the old one how to kick field goals. Mind you they missed 4 FGs when they played last month.
For Alabama, Shelley is 7-13 at 30+ yards on the season, including 0-2 at 40+. They usually go with Foster on any the longer kicks, and he is 2-9 on the season from 40+. So Bama will have to get inside the 20 before they can count on either guy to hit anything. They would be further ahead just going for it on 4th down, and expect Saban to do exactly that, probably more than once.
For LSU, Alleman is 8-10 at 30+ yards, including 3-3 from 40-49 and 0-1 from 50+.
That is a huge advantage in the kicking game for LSU.
The previous game was in Tuscaloosa, this one is in New Orleans. Advantage LSU, not so much because it's in NO, but because it's not in Tuscaloosa.
LSU has already beat Alabama, so psychologically the edge again goes to LSU.
In a pick 'em game like this, LSU looks to be the choice.
I would much rather have seen LSU need to prepare for somebody new and different, with an explosive offense, like Oklahoma State, than a rematch of the previous game. The rematch just isn't very interesting to me, and if I miss the game, I won't really care.
