Texas College Softball Opening Weekend

Texas Classic - No surprises here with Texas 4-0 (beating Memphis, North Texas twice, and A&M Corpus). In the championship game, Texas played North Texas and won 5-4.

Baylor Classic - Baylor 3-2 losing to Sam Houston and Northern Illinois. Heather Stearnes threw a no hitter. Sam Houston ended up 2-3.

Houston Classic - Houston is 4-2 losing to Iowa and Lipscomb. Houston might have a rough season given those losses. Texas State is 0-5 but stats indicate that Hernandez, Hernandez, and Garcia did not play. Those are 3 of their best players so when they get back things should be better.

A&M playing in California 4-0 with an impressive win over UCLA.

Texas Tech playing in Las Vegas - 3-2 With losses to Louisville and DePaul.

Northern Illinois is rebuilding after firing thier coach last season. Not looking good for for Baylor.

Sorry about that. I never have read the college forum. Many of us have been around long enough to know the freshman, sophomores, and even juniors like the Outon twins, Mandy Ogle, Ashley Kirk etc It's actually more exciting to see them play college than HS or select ball. Move the thread to college and we can continue it there.
