Bobbyboy wrote:thanks for the link spaz. but most of it is a bunch of bickering about lesbians and grammer. there is a mention about it happening and how it is sick and so on. but there is nothing about how us coaches and parents can prevent it from happening again.
we cant go back and change it no matter how much we want to take it away from that little girl (and she was a little girl, not a college student like some of the posts kept going back to college sex orientation). but i bet if we talked to her and her parents and the people close to this situation they would say we all need to find a way from it happening to any other person.
so get to talkin people. what can we do?
I think there is a level of responsibility on the parents part especially with allowing a minor to have maybe the opportunities to meet alone or whatever with their coach. There is a trust issue there, because most abusers are well known by the victim. I think there is nothing that could have been done differently from the side of any organization aside from checking background and criminal record. There is no way that they can know what is going on behind closed doors... that is the parent's job. I think young women just as young men (baseball) need to be educated about the dangers of not only the opposite sex but of the same.
Talking about you and your comments on this thread, you are a very annoying poster. You bring up a serious issue but yet joke back and forth with people with smilies and what not. Even though you are "trying" to get a serious response from people, you are not being successful because you sound like a complete idiot. There was no reason for you to have come on here posting as your head line that this was once a bombers coach...I mean obviously that would have come up, but in no way is the organization responsible for someone that was in their group a few years back.
Please do yourself a favor and delete your user name and never again try and partake on a conversation when in the end you are seen as just a complete moron, you do no justice to the topic at hand.
