Gentleman,
We have a clarification and let me direct this to Battle and an apology to the TNT and Coach Grey for allowing them to be drawn into this mish mash.
I did not realize that TNT and TNT North Texas were not the same team.
I went back and checked it out on VTD.
So TNT was not in the tournament in McKinney on Dec 11.
When I stated that TNT got beat by Fusion I was referring to the team that played in McKinney on Dec 11, TNT North Texas.
They did get beat by Fusion who ultimately fell to the Donkeys.
OK?
In regards to you comment about being a Coach, I think my point about not being one was quite profound. There are not many “real” coaches handling select teams. Sure there are a lot of guys who are called coach but not that make a living at it. At best it is an honorary title that people call one another because they don’t know their names!
I am sure we all know a few who are good at it and others not so good. I know I have heard enough muffled comments from parents and players about being on a team with a poor coach that they exist.
Plus as far as communicating I may not be a great prose like Battle but I don’t lower myself to name calling or making accusations against a person’s profession.
Here is what I do know though. Maybe this is what really “burns” all of you softball experts about the Donkeys because no matter what they do, we have nay sayers and mud slingers trying to discount them.
The Donkeys have no regular players; they don’t practice and have never even met some of their players until a few minutes before game time. However they have played in four tournaments this year and in each tournament, they played in the championship game.
What do you think the percentage is of teams that have been together all year, practiced 2-3 times a week and played in four out of four championship games?
I don’t care what the level is or the type of tournaments.
How is that?
Do you think we have some kind of magical spell over the TD and the tournaments?
You can say oh the tournament competition is poor, comeback when you win the Sparkler or some such nonsense. Don’t you see it the irony of it?
Don’t’ you as a coach or parent question how could they do this?
There is a secret and we will not now or ever disclose it.
However here is the part about it that will floor you.
It was not discovered by a softball person!
To Justawatcher, I know you wish we would just go away but no such luck we are here to stay, see you in 2011!
Hoofless
