I do not support bashing an organization just because a coach use to be with them and then got in trouble after they left. I do believe that organizations are responible for the actions of coaches on their staff, but that it debatable also.
I do believe we are missing (1) of the important issues from the post. " What can we, as parents", do to minimize the possibility of a coach (male or female) making sexual advances or comitting sexual acts with or to our children. We as parents have the reponibility to our children to try and prevent this. We need to be sure that organizations have in place thorough background checks. Rules to prevent coaches from ever being alone with our children. Parents have to take an active role in watching their children and coaches for any signs that could be telling them something is wrong.
Please don't push this under the carpet just because you feel someone has unjustly acused an organization. Get passed that and look at the big picture YOUR CHILD'S SAFETY.
What other things can we as parents do to minimize or prevent this from happening??
