cpbulldogfan you seem to base a lot on one or two games a season, I could get into reasons for this and for that, but the fact of the matter is our 11U team from 2012 was exactly that,... an 11U team, ALL 2000!!! We took shots from a lot of 12U teams. This is a new season with a somewhat new team.
What we stress here at the NWI White Sox is not the importance of winning every game, but the importance of each player and parent developing the skills (mentally and physically) to reach short and long term goals in this game. These 12 year olds are about 24 months from trying out for their high school teams, it is my job, as well as all of the coaches in our program to make sure they are prepared for that day, and then on to the next level. IMO that is the area that most programs and teams in NWI don't understand. PREPARATION and GOAL REACHING!!! Our program has added a 16U team this season and we have been working diligently to make sure we make the right moves, and trying to develop the right contacts to help these NWI players most of which don't have a clue as to how to get recruited, because they have spent their whole softball careers on teams that have done a poor job of PREPARING them for this day. We have brought in a new 14U coach that has the experience and contacts to help his players reach their goals!!
So you see cpbulldogfan and likeitornot, to me it is more important to have a vision as to where these 12U girls will be five years from now, as opposed to what happens in a 12U game on a field in Crown Point or Portage this season. Believe me bulldogfan the players I have on my 12U are not afraid to play any team.
