I think its hilarious when scouts are watching your game and parents just linger around like voltures!!!! I think parents ruin it when they do that,I was at the surf city showcase and just laughed my a$& off. Its disrespectful to the coaches and the scouts. That's what happens when parents run the dugout

Many coaches wevaluate the parents as closely as they do the players. Very few want to deal with problem parents.

It does help kill time during game breaks - watching parents "spy" on the coaches like no one knows what they are doing. If you stand right behind the coach and look over their shoulder, maybe you'll see that they are looking at your little princess.

The best is when a parent tries handing their kids resume directly to the coach.

This was over at the 10 year old level. It's rather embarassing..
I'm sure scouts aren't pleased with that.. We don't allow it in
Bronco leauge. Strange it goes on in Gold?

Or give the DD a Gatorade while she is in the dugout trick so you can coach her real quick!!!! Then the scout puts a little mark next to their name.

We had colleges looking at a few kids last week and they asked one of our coaches who are the parents. The college watched the parents as much as they watched the kid.

I had a PIA dad, actually not even dad but mom's boyfriend coming to me during a showcase to tell me University of so and so Coach wanted to see the player. When I pressed him to introduced me to the coach so I could answer any questions he/she had about the player I got the "no need" response, just play her where you want from BF. Other parents told me that this guy had been approaching anybody that he saw with a clipboard.

Most parents are fine and appreciate any guidance you can give them regarding parent protocol when their kid is showcasing. We do it in writing and have parent meetings where we discuss what to expect at an event but there's always one...
