by Under the Radar » Thu Jan 15, 2009 11:20 am

I just looked at the web site & the 12u main fields are in San Clemente. Whats the deal with that...... I am sure it is a nice location but we singed up to play in HB .

There's a whole lot of crying going on regarding this tournament so I looked up the triple crown website and it says Hunington Beach Classic/ Orange County so you can't complain that they are using other fields to accommodate all of the teams that are signed up.

Here is the deal the more teams they get the more money they make. That is no secret. If you don't want to drive don't sign up. TCS has at least one tourney a month, wait a couple weeks and go play in the next one. How many berths are given for 52 teams anyway?

It's TCS everyone gets a participation berth. :o I like TCS and I used to like going to Park City to bad ASA chooses the worst places to have nationals but oh well we will keep going to the armpits of America to go to nationals. Maybe ASA can try to get Park City as one of their locations for nationals????

Who cares? With 12 berths (I THINK) now at States plus good teams already with a berth TCS is going to be pretty weak.... JMO The only reason most play in these tournaments is because they are every month and they need somewhere to compete. Only a couple good AFA or USSSA tournaments each year, usually in the Fall and ASA Turkey and States it for them.

I looked at the site and couldn't find any field assignments... can you link to where you found this info? Thanks

At least you're not in Sacramento. You know how far we have to go just to play in a TC tourney? San Clemente looks pretty good from here.

To the Spring thaw in HB... Cheers!

I am not one to B*&ch & moan the difference is a hotel stay vs. driving back & forth. Not all of us are coming from OC. I also have no prob going to a nieghboring city but San Clemente is like on the boarder of SD County. The site say that is where the 12u main fields are going to be, so it sounds like we may be in HB then having to drive to SC which would be a bummer. JMO

It just would have been nice to now in advance so that we can make some arrangements thats all. Our team will go anywhere & play.

I do a lot of hotels myself and I did not think of that. When do the brackets come out next Tuesday?
