Are TCS Fall tourneys in SoCal decent?

by justanotherfan » Fri Jul 27, 2012 12:42 am

I am forming a new ASA team and am looking at heading down to a TCS tourney down to LA/San Diego area and am looking for feedback on their decency. Are they good tournaments? Are the worth the drive from Northern California? Most importantly, how is the competition? I am looking at Turkey Bash (11/3-11/4) in Palmdale or the Monster Mash (10/20-10/21) in San Diego. Any feedback would be appreciated.

TCS holds several tourneys here in SoCal each year.

There are some that are highly attended and will draw 25+ teams.

You will then find others that will only draw 5 teams.

Your best bet will be the TCS tourneys in South OC and Fountain Valley.. those ones usually have great competition. There is also 1-2 in Palm Springs each year that get a good turn-out. In reference to San Diego; I am not real familiar with how successful the TCS tourneys are.

In general TCS is a well ran tournament that does a good job with keeping folks updated.

I agree, too. TCS Tournaments are always well run.
Their "Pocket update" scoring information system is great.

What age group? Some tourneys are better for different age groups...

My apologies, we are 12U. I am already planning on doing the Brenda Marsh Tournament, but we wanted to hit LA/SoCal once more before that. Any good tournaments in October that you would recommend for that age group?

The "Best of the West" TCS Tourney on Oct 5-7 is a good one.

If you go on the TCS web site you can look at past tournament results. Check the tournaments you want to attend for number of teams in the past.

Look at the team names if you're more concerned about quality than quantity.
