So they just added a team in the Bye location without a re-draw?

2008 Super Bowl Giants over then undefeated Pats
1980 US over USSR hockey
2007 Appalachian State over Michigan
1969 Jets over Colts

etc.

Just happened a couple of hours ago; USA beat Spain in soccer, 1st loss since 2006 or something like that. These picks however seem pretty solid, anything can happen. Good luck to all the teams.

Soccer????? hmmmm---does that count :?: :?:

Yes there is always the chance of an upset and the best team does not always win however, they do win A LOT and that’s why they are tagged with that “best team” label in most match ups.

And stop using that soccer word on here

Absolutely correct, they win the vast majority of the time especially at the 18 Gold level. However, it's why they play the games. You've got to earn it.

The spirit, the will to win, and the will to excel are the things that endure.
These qualities are so much more important than the events that occur.

Hahahahaha. Looks like their first game may have been a forfeit too. What a waste, a team that wanted that spot could have been there.

socal magic didnt show up,

and Scorcerer Phil should breathe a sigh of relief as they ESCAPED with a 2-1 ITB victory over Scorcerer Pete. Hardly getting a bitt whiping. Muma was oh so close to blowing a gasket as the umps had blown play after blown play... or should I say mishandled play.

Either way, 2 outs runner at 3rd bottom of 8th and a blooper to left. the runner returned to 3rd to TAG UP with 2 outs. LF dives and ball goes past her. Had she not dove. runner would have been out by a mile, then I would have loved to see Phil after that:)

Oh well, so close to a fun ending and just missed it by inches.

it was a pretty good game and fun to watch.
