I have spoken to Mike Fox on several different occasions. Mike is extremely remorseful over what has happened. Mike has apologized to his players and their parents. Mike also wanted to apologize to the Cruiser players and families, but, didn't want to cause more problems by doing so. Instead Mike asked Andy to do it for him. I also offer an apology on behalf of the Renegade organization to the Cruiser players and families.
We all have made mistakes in the past. We all have said things that we have regretted later. Mike and Tom are no different. This incident has been handled by the Renegade Board. We are confident there will be no further incidents. Let's put this to rest once and for all, and get on to coaching the girls which is what we are here for in the first place. I would like to wish Tom Peranto nothing but the very best and much success in whatever the future holds for him.
I know there are people out there who will respond to this post with negative remarks and sarcasm. However, I will not respond to any more posts regarding this matter.
Thank you for your concern.

The arrogance of this "apology" is beyond belief.

Does anyone besides me see how thick the irony is that this topic started with posters questioning the manhood of Tom Peronto, and now the only person whose manhood is in question is Mike Fox because not only has he not apologized for his actions, but he apparently relies on others to speak for him?

Coach Fox, the floor is yours.

It is not like a normal fight. He put his hands around the mans neck. Do you think when Mike Fox entered the other teams dugout and choked the opposing coach he crossed a line?

Daniel, it doesnt matter whether you respond again or not. You dont run your organization anyways; Mike Fox does. You are merely the sock puppet with the title.

Fox lost the moral high ground that is needed by a coach. He can no longer with any authority speak to his players about sportsmanship, about maintaining mental focus or control in pressure situations, and about having honor and respect for the game and one's opponents.

You frame this as if it were merely a shouting match. It wasnt. It was an assault and Fox is fortunate he isnt facing charges. If any parent had done this, that family would have been off your team that day. Your players all know that. If any coach other than Fox had done that, he would be gone. If another coach had assaulted one of your 16U coaches who is in law enforcement, he would have been lead away in handcuffs after they scraped him off the ground.

Peronto could have pressed charges and Fox's life would be severely impacted as a result. For you to not at least suspend Fox is a disgrace. Do you think OCBB or FC would allow this in their organization?

Your actions and the actions of your board are a disgrace to this game and to your players who now know that there is one standard for Fox and another for everyone else. This will be the downfall of the Renegades and that will be your fault.

Whoa ... lots of personal bashing going on here.

There are 2 sides to every story. If I understand correctly, there's a long history between the 2, which clouds the issue. It wasn't 2 random coaches going at it. It's 2 guys who don't like each other getting into an inexusable fight at the wrong place/time.

Lots of folks in their high towers and soap boxes jumping to conclusions and requesting resignations without having been there nor knowing the history. Best to use care before posting disparaging comments without knowing the full story.

Both the OP and Renegade acknowledged that apologies were made. Some of you think that's not good enough. Or that it was arrogant. Why? Because a personal apology wasn't inappropriately posted to this public forum or because suspensions weren't involved? First, not everyone uses HB. Second, both sides are suggesting that we let it rest. Since it didn't involve the majority of us and since most of us weren't there, how about we respect that.

Due to my misspent youth I have been in loads of fights. Been on the beat giving end and on the receiving end. This was not a punch to the face, or a chest bump, or a wrestle to the ground. It was a choke. Only times I saw one person choke another, they were trying to kill the other person.

I am not sure this comes down to 'both sides are suggesting'. It comes down to, was a line crossed? I think that it was. Are you arguing that it was not?

What, not wanting a guy that chokes people involved in youth sports is funny?

If this was a parent that had choked a coach, this thread would be 20+ pages by now. If the ump had been choked, a different result as well. Instead it is a well connected 18G coach who doesnt like another coach. Different standards.

By all means, this is no big deal. He should get back to the business of coaching high school age girls. The life lessons he can impart to them about actions and consequences are crucial. They will learn that if you become important enough, or have the right connections, you get treated differently than the common folk.

Perhaps a name change to Renegades Elite is in order.

Once again what he did was completely wrong and yes he crossed the line.

I guess people don't deserve a second chance, maybe a town hanging will make things better.

BTW I have never met either one of the coaches.

I am officially done with this witch hunt
