I’m with you longitude. But its not about us it’s about the kids. So I have a great idea for those coaches that won the co-champ ask their kids if it was worth working that hard and getting co champ and t-shirts . Come on coaches let me here it.

Holy crap, I have a bunch of t-shirts I can give you if you want!
I have a crap load of nice trophies from 8u, 10u. and even 12u, probably enough for both your teams. All you have to do is cover the label with your own.
They are just collecting dust, and I've been wondering what to do with them.

Jeez people, the AA's T4T website clearly explains all the policies for rainouts, etc.
They have put this tournament on for years, to benefit needy children at Christmas.
You are playing alot of the games across the street from Oggis's for goodness sake!

Terrible, horrible, tournament. The absolute worst I've ever seen. Really? Co champions in every freakin division?
T-shirts? Really? Who on Earth was in charge of this debacle? I mean I know the Athletics have historically made a descent name for themselves, but this year marks the last year this tournament should ever be put on again if this is what teams have to spend their money on. I don't even know where to start. And just think, they're the only ones coming out smelling like a rose to all the less fortunate kids (and the Marines) with all the toys all the teams donated. Talk about another "Lebron James" situation. Over sell the tournament, know ahead of time they weren't going to finish the tournament, scheduling that made absolutely no logistical sense, take everyone's money, leave the park before the final games end? Blame it on lights, rain, blah, blah, freakin blah. Hey but it's for the kids right? Jokes on us I guess.

16U championship game was played. AA's were flexible enough to take a suggestion to keep that game at Saddleback and it started early. No problems with the T-shirts.

Mr. Longitude,

I don’t mean to be condescending my friend, but I ‘m talking to you from a different level. You obviously don’t know what it takes to put on a tournament like this. Speaking from experience, it’s about as easy as Chinese mathematics. I once had to put together a 16 team event, over two days, using only 4 fields. Each team had to get in two games…you do the math. It’s not so easy my friend. You’re complaining about T-shirts? Listen, it’s not about your shirt, it’s about the kids, they’re younger than us. These kids will be future adults.

There are several things to take into consideration when putting together a friendly tournament of sorts. Mr. Longitude, have you ever thought about how hard it is to accommodate walk-up customers? Do you actually think, you know how many teams are coming ahead of time? Don’t you think it’s a scheduling nightmare to try and fit in teams that wait until the last minute and register the day of the event? What do you suggest, turn away people? The more teams, the more kids, the more toys, the more joy. The glass is not half empty my friend, it is in fact barely half full. These are simple questions that require complex, yet basic answers.

With 94 teams in the tournament it is very hard to figure out where everyone is going to play. Very hard. If they play, good for them, if they don’t get to play all of their games, well there are kid’s in Wisconsin who aren’t playing right now so be happy with what you get. You should be content that our daughters and grand daughters get to play. It’s called be THANKful Mr. Longitude. Have we forgotten what this Holiday is all about? It’s not just about Turkey, Ham and stuffing. Let’s learn a lesson from the Pilgrims and Indians, “tis better to give than receive”.

So in the end, be thankful for the opportunity, and appreciate anything you get. Remember, that it is hard to figure out the whole scheduling thingy. In the future, we will all be better softball citizens if we gave tournament organizers advance notice that we will be attending the event.

Mr Longitude, change your attitude to a different latitude. Be the change you want to see in our community!

REALLY !!!!!!! Ask your DD if she really cares if she got a t-shirt or not, I am sure she was just happy to get out there and play.

The AA's always do a great job of putting on this tourney and don't forget it's the fall season not game 7 at Nationals
